Established in India for over 20 years, the company has various production sites and branches in the country. To strengthen their presence for one of their subsidiaries, Endress+Hauser Temperature + System Products is looking for a Production Manager India to join their team.

The Position

Job Title: Head of Mini Factory

Location: Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, India

Reporting to: Head of Operations Production and Industrial Engineering

Direct Reports: 4 (Four)

Total number of subordinated employees: 16 employees

Related business region: APC Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar is supplying to India, Australia, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, South Africa, and Turkey

Responsibilities

This role will be responsible to ensure end-to-end operational readiness and stable ramp-up of the mini factory having two value streams OPT and OPS for industrial thermometers, temperature transmitters and system products, including infrastructure, processes, workforce capability, and equipment reliability, in full compliance with applicable occupational safety and environmental regulations.

The role is responsible for driving the overall operational performance of the mini factory, ensuring consistent delivery of:

  • High product quality (zero-defect mindset, robust process control)
  • On-time delivery aligned with customer and supply chain commitments
  • Cost adherence and productivity targets, supporting planned industrialization and lifecycle cost objectives

Purpose Of The Role, Responsibilities And Deliverables

  • Lead and develop assigned team members in line with Endress+Hauser culture, values, and Leadership Competency Model; foster motivation, engagement, and capability building through regular feedback, recognition, and structured development.
  • Ensure structured communication and team governance, including regular employee dialogues and effective collaboration across functions and global subsidiaries.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Lean / Kaizen) with a strong focus on process optimization, efficiency improvement, and waste reduction; ensure disciplined implementation and sustainability of agreed measures and standards.
  • Own and coordinate production layout planning, ensuring optimal material flow, space utilization, and alignment with industrialization and operational requirements in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure effective cross–value stream alignment, actively contributing to and driving coordination in key forums such as Purchasing and Production Planning working groups.
  • Ensure effective collaboration between value stream team leaders, shopfloor teams, and quality assurance (QA) to maintain high product quality and stable manufacturing and administrative processes within the mini factory during series production.
  • Drive structured complaint management in collaboration with the Quality Assurance Manager, ensuring root cause analysis is completed and corrective actions are implemented sustainably to prevent recurrence.
  • Ensure smooth execution of production-supporting functions within the mini factory, including coordination with Purchasing and Production Planning to maintain operational continuity.
  • Ensure alignment and accountability of assigned products with global standards, consistency in planning processes, and effective support for industrialization and series production.
  • Ensure availability of required resources (machines, manpower, infrastructure, etc.) within the Mini Factory to support stable operations.
  • Drive optimal resource planning and utilization to achieve the highest possible delivery reliability.
  • Ensure consistent fulfilment of customer expectations through reliable and responsive production capability.
  • Actively contribute to and support cross-functional planning processes (OP, OI, OPF, OPS, OPT), including ownership of manpower planning as well as CAPEX and OPEX planning.
  • Drive continuous development and strategic planning of manufacturing technologies in close collaboration with Industrial Engineering (OI), ensuring alignment with overall strategy.
  • Lead the planning, evaluation, and procurement of production equipment, ensuring timely availability, technical suitability, and alignment with industrialization requirements.
  • Provide manufacturing-driven input for new product and process development, ensuring design for manufacturing (DFM) and smooth transition from development to series production.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable legal regulations and standards in manufacturing, particularly related to occupational safety and product specifications.
  • Establish and maintain robust processes to meet safety and product quality requirements, ensuring consistent adherence during series production.
  • Drive accountability for regulatory compliance within the mini factory, minimizing risk and always ensuring audit readiness.
  • Ensure timely preparation of the Mini Factory budget in compliance with defined budgeting guidelines, actively contributing to the planning process.
  • Monitor adherence to the approved budget and initiate corrective actions in case of deviations to ensure financial discipline.
  • Drive achievement of planned targets and KPIs, ensuring consistent alignment with operational and strategic objectives.

The Person – Profile & Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Minimum Qualification: Academic degree in Engineering
  • 12-15 years of professional experience in manufacturing environment in a multinational organization is mandatory.
  • Fluent English
