Role Overview:
As a Network Architect, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing scalable, secure, and resilient network infrastructures to support our organization's operations and growth. You will lead the development of comprehensive network architecture solutions, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with business objectives and technological requirements. Your expertise in network design, protocols, security, and emerging technologies will be instrumental in optimizing network performance, reliability, and security.

The Company is very much a family-owned business and has a core of nine depots around London and the Midlands. Wembley, Barking, Enfield, Croydon, Watford, Hayes, Lewisham, Leicester and Birmingham depots each average around 100,000 sq. ft. of well-lit floor space. All are open seven days a week and all stock over 12,000 products across the following key areas: Grocery, Soft Drinks, Confectionery, Toiletries & Household Goods, Wines & Spirits, Beers & Ciders and Tobacco. Whilst The Company’s core business is supplying a comprehensive range of products to Independent Retailers, it also has an ever-expanding export operation. The Company is also the largest member of the Today’s Group which is itself part of the biggest buying group in Europe.

Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and implementation of enterprise-wide network architectures, including LAN, WAN, wireless, and cloud networks.
- Develop network design blueprints, documentation, and standards to ensure consistency, reliability, and scalability across all network components.
- Evaluate existing network infrastructure and propose strategic improvements, enhancements, and optimizations to meet evolving business needs.
- Define network security policies, protocols, and best practices to safeguard against cyber threats, unauthorized access, and data breaches.
- Collaborate with IT teams and stakeholders to assess network requirements, prioritize projects, and ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Research and evaluate emerging network technologies, trends, and industry standards to recommend innovative solutions and best practices.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to network engineering teams, fostering a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and excellence.
- Conduct network performance analysis, capacity planning, and troubleshooting to identify and resolve issues proactively.
- Stay updated with industry developments, certifications, and training to maintain expertise in network architecture and design.
- Hire a Full Time contractor
- Job Type: Contractor 12 months
- Payout will be managed by Uplers
- Location: Onsite, Ahmedabad
- Working Time: 2:30 PM to 11:30 PM IST
Required Skills/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; advanced degree or certifications (e.g., CCIE, CCNP, CISSP) preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in network architecture, design, and implementation in enterprise environments.
- In-depth knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, MPLS, SD-WAN, and QoS.
- Proficiency in network hardware, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless access points from leading vendors (Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, etc.).
- Experience with network virtualization, software-defined networking (SDN), and cloud networking platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).
- Strong understanding of network security principles, encryption protocols, authentication mechanisms, and security best practices.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with a focus on delivering practical, scalable solutions.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate across teams.
- Experience with network automation, scripting, and orchestration tools (Python, Ansible, Terraform, etc.).
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and agile methodologies.
- Knowledge of network monitoring and management tools (SolarWinds, Nagios, PRTG, etc.).
- Understanding of regulatory compliance requirements (PCI DSS, HIPAA, GDPR) and industry-specific standards.
