Job Overview:
The Warehouse Operations Team Lead is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the day-to-day activities of the warehouse operations team. This role ensures that all warehouse functions, including receiving, storing, inventory management, and shipping, are carried out efficiently and accurately. The Warehouse Operations Team Lead plays a critical role in maintaining operational excellence, optimizing workflows, and ensuring the highest standards of safety and productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership and Supervision:
Lead and supervise a team of warehouse associates, providing guidance, support, and motivation.
Schedule shifts, assign tasks, and monitor team performance to meet operational goals.
Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, changes, and updates.
Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team skills and knowledge.
Warehouse Operations Management:
Oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, and shipping of products.
Ensure accurate and timely processing of orders and inventory transactions.
Implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) to improve efficiency and productivity.
Coordinate with other departments (e.g., procurement, logistics, and customer service) to ensure smooth operations.
Inventory Control:
Manage inventory levels to ensure accurate stock counts and proper rotation of products.
Conduct regular inventory audits and cycle counts to identify and rectify discrepancies.
Use warehouse management systems (WMS) to track inventory movements and update records.
Quality Assurance:
Monitor the quality of goods received and dispatched, ensuring adherence to company standards.
Implement quality control processes to minimize errors and damages.
Address and resolve any quality-related issues promptly.
Safety and Compliance:
Enforce health and safety regulations within the warehouse.
Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions for the team.
Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and legal requirements.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational efficiency and team performance.
Prepare and present regular reports on warehouse activities, productivity, and performance metrics.
Analyze data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities for cost savings.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance warehouse operations.
Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in warehouse management.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence within the team.
Experience Required:
Minimum 2 years of experience in the logistics field as Team Lead.
