- Oversee day-to-day functioning of the hospital store.
- Maintain accurate inventory of medical supplies, surgical instruments, medicines, and equipment.
- Ensure timely procurement of materials through approved vendors.
- Coordinate with various hospital departments (ICU, OT, Pharmacy, Nursing, etc.) for supply requirements.
- Maintain records of stock received, issued, and balance levels.
- Monitor expiry dates and ensure safe disposal of expired/obsolete stock.
- Implement FIFO (First In, First Out) and FEFO (First Expiry, First Out) methods for inventory management.
- Supervise staff involved in receiving, stocking, and distribution of supplies.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, statutory requirements, and quality standards.
- Prepare reports on stock levels, consumption trends, and budget utilization.
- Negotiate with suppliers for, quality and timely delivery.
- Conduct periodic audits to prevent stock discrepancies and pilferage.
- Ensure proper storage conditions for sensitive medical items (temperature-controlled storage).
- Knowledge of medical equipment, consumables, and drugs.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in hospital inventory management software/ERP.
- Good communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet urgent supply demands.
- Knowledge about NABH standard and compliance.
