Job Title : Senior Data Engineer Commerce Platform | Data Architecture & Integration.

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer (12- 15 years) to design, develop, and optimize data solutions that power insights and analytics across our commerce ecosystem.

You will play a key role in building scalable data platforms, integrating diverse data sources, and ensuring data quality, reliability, and accessibility across the organization.

As a senior member of the team, youll help shape our data architecture strategy, mentor other engineers, and work closely with business, analytics, and technology teams to deliver high-impact data initiatives that enable smarter decision-making and personalized customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Data Engineering & Development :

• Design and build robust, reusable, and scalable data pipelines for ingesting, transforming, and delivering data from multiple commerce systems (e.g., product, customer, order, marketing, payments).
• Develop and maintain data models and data warehouses that support reporting, analytics, and machine learning needs.
• Create efficient ETL/ELT workflows using modern tools and cloud services.
• Ensure high standards for data quality, integrity, and governance across systems and platforms.
• Implement automation, testing, and monitoring for data flows to ensure reliability and performance.
  
  

Architecture & Strategy

• Contribute to the design and evolution of the companys data architecture, including integration between operational systems, cloud data stores, and analytics platforms.
• Define and enforce best practices in data modeling, storage, and performance optimization.
• Collaborate with software engineering, product, and analytics teams to ensure data systems align with overall business and technology strategy.
  
  

Collaboration & Leadership

• Partner with data analysts, scientists, and business teams to understand data requirements and deliver trusted, well-structured datasets.
• Mentor and guide junior and mid-level engineers in data engineering principles and development practices.
• Participate in sprint planning, code reviews, and design discussions.
• Drive continuous improvement in data engineering processes, tools, and technologies.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 12- 15 years of experience in Data Engineering, Database Development, or ETL Architecture roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with SQL and data modeling for both transactional and analytical systems.
• Proven experience designing and developing data pipelines using ETL/ELT tools (e.g., Informatica, Talend, dbt, Matillion, Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, or similar).
• Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Strong programming experience in Python, Java, or Scala for data integration and automation tasks.
• Deep understanding of data architecture, data governance, and metadata management principles.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work across technical and non-technical teams.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with commerce or retail data (customer, order, catalog, pricing, promotions).
• Exposure to API-based data integration, streaming data sources, or real-time analytics.
• Knowledge of business intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, etc.) and data modeling for analytics.
• Familiarity with data privacy, security, and compliance frameworks (GDPR, CCPA).
• Experience mentoring teams and contributing to enterprise-level data strategy.
