Job Description:

At Cloudera, we empower people to transform complex data into clear and actionable insights. With as much data under management as the hyperscalers, we're the preferred data partner for the top companies in almost every industry. Powered by the relentless innovation of the open source community, Cloudera advances digital transformation for the world’s largest enterprises.

Cloudera is searching for a Senior Product Manager (individual contributor) to own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for our mission-critical Cloudera Operational Database (COD) service. This service is built on the robust foundation of Apache HBase and Apache Phoenix and is delivered on a Kubernetes platform, supporting both public and private cloud deployments. You will be responsible for owning the deployment, scaling, and lifecycle management of these critical services on the underlying Kubernetes platform. This hands-on role involves translating enterprise challenges into clear product requirements. You will manage the entire product lifecycle and directly advocate for the product's value in the market, bridging technical complexities with business value.

As a Senior Product Manager you will:

  • Define and evangelize the long-term vision and product strategy for the Cloudera Operational Database Service, aligning it with the broader Cloudera Data Services goals.
  • Translate high-level visions into precise product requirements documents (PRDs), user stories, and epics in Jira for HBase and Phoenix feature development, defining the "what" and "why" emphasizing performance, scalability, security, and usability.
  • Develop and maintain a prioritized product roadmap, making data-driven decisions on feature priorities based on customer needs, market trends, and technical debt.
  • Serve as the primary conduit for customer feedback through direct engagements with field teams, customers, and partners, while conducting continuous market research.
  • Direct the development of features for elasticity, cost optimization, and automated resource management across the hybrid cloud, ensuring cloud-native efficiency for the COD service.
  • Drive successful product launches by creating compelling messaging and enabling internal teams and customers.
  • Define and track KPIs for the COD service's success, including adoption and revenue.

We’re excited about you if you have:

  • 5+ years of experience in product management, with significant hands-on experience in distributed data platforms or cloud-native data services.
  • Expertise in Apache HBase and Apache Phoenix.
  • Proven ability to write precise technical specifications (PRDs), build use cases/user stories, analyze customer patterns, and manage product backlogs effectively.
  • Experience managing products delivered via Kubernetes.
  • Experience managing products deployed across both Public Cloud and on-premises Private Cloud.
  • Hands-on experience with SQL and NoSQL technologies.
  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.

What you can expect from us:

  • Generous PTO Policy
  • Support work life balance with Unplugged Days
  • Flexible WFH Policy
  • Mental & Physical Wellness programs
  • Phone and Internet Reimbursement program
  • Access to Continued Career Development
  • Comprehensive Benefits and Competitive Packages
  • Paid Volunteer Time
  • Employee Resource Groups
