The Microsoft Azure Core team builds the core infrastructure and application programming interfaces (APIs) that power the Microsoft Azure platform. The team delivers the software to manage compute clusters at the scale of 1,000s of physical host servers and 100,000s of virtual machines (VMs), REST (Representational State Transfer) interfaces to deploy and manage virtual machines, and the developer and information technology professional (ITPro) experiences for the following Azure products: Virtual Machines (VM), Virtual Machine Scale Sets (VMSS) and Cloud Services.

We are looking for an exceptional Senior Product Manager to set the vision and drive execution for enhancements to the software that supports the Azure compute infrastructure. In this role you will design and manage software that enables highly trustworthy computing experiences in the Azure platform. In this role, you will need to have a deep understanding virtualized environments.

Responsibilities

• Drive business impact across the organization and track success criteria for multiple feature areas. You’ll also identify long-term investment opportunities and engage partners to garner support for those feature areas.
• Define a feature set and facilitate mid-level usability reviews with customers. You’ll own the roadmap for multiple feature areas, and will collaborate with a partner team to build golden configurations and drive scenario walkthroughs.
• Scale Product Marketing teams by helping build marketing, roll-out, and customer support plans. You’ll also promote the feature areas you worked on and present at large events.
• Partner with others to collect performance metrics and form hypotheses for complex technical needs in order to improve product development in targeted areas. You’ll also identify features to deprecate, manage customer communities, and build trust with targeted customers.
  
  

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree AND 5+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development
• OR equivalent experience.
• 1+ years(s) of understanding and history developing distributed and/or cloud-based systems.
• 1+ year(s) of demonstrated collaboration and communication skills (verbal, written, presentation - to peers and executives).

• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:  Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
