What You'll Do
The Business Process Analyst drives department-level improvements aligned with Avalara's strategic goals, reporting to the Director of Business Excellence. You will lead end-to-end process plans—from root cause analysis to implementation—using Lean tools, automation, generative AI, and data analytics. The analyst facilitates Kaizen events, delivers scalable solutions, and champions continuous improvement through clear, data-driven storytelling that builds partner support.

The analyst facilitates Kaizen events, delivers scalable solutions, and champions continuous improvement through clear, data-driven storytelling that builds partner support.
What Your Responsibilities Will Be
- You will lead end-to-end improvement plans that align with Avalara's strategic goals, from discovery through to sustained implementation
- You will partner with operational delivery teams, project managers, contractors, and developers to identify, scope, and implement improvement opportunities
- Facilitate Kaizen events and workshops using Lean Management principles to support team engagement and new ideas
- You will be fluent in automation tooling, generative AI (ChatGPT, N8N workflow) and RPA tools and data analytics to accelerate root cause analysis and improve business processes
- Map and improve complex workflows to improve process flow, visibility, and measurable performance outcomes
- You will build and embed control and measurement systems that ensure improvements are sustained
- You have to promote a culture of continuous improvement by communicating wins and outcomes through data-driven storytelling
- Over 5 years of experience leading process improvement.
- Experience applying generative AI, automation, and data analytics to lead measurable operational gains.
- Proficient in tools like MiniTab and experienced in coaching data-driven decision-making.
- Facilitator of global, cross-functional teams through workshops and change programs.
- Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt / Master Black Belt with expertise in continuous improvement.
