Procurement Operations & Sourcing Analyst

What You'll Do

You will be the designated Procurement and Sourcing resource for Avalara's Inda Region. The Senior Associate, Procurement: India will manage both the Procurement Operations role within the India Region, supporting all teams and cost centers within India.

You will Negotiate with suppliers to obtain savings and avoidance, Negotiate commercials with suppliers for more favorable terms. Tracking savings in a standardized manner, working with partners on the Procurement Process, working with stakeholders on their forecast of purchases.

Location: Pune

• Train and support employees on the end-to-end process for raising Purchase Requisitions – from Intake and ensuring prerequisites are met to issuing the Purchase Order and signing the contract
• Review purchase requisitions for appropriate account coding and necessary approvals
• Evaluate bids and proposals from vendors in accordance with established policies
• Build and maintain a roadmap of sourcing events based on spend analysis, stakeholder demand, and business priorities / impact
• Build RFx material for each event (including spec development, selection criteria, supplier list)
• Run sourcing events to completion including negotiations, award, and contracting if applicable
• Negotiate win-win pricing, payment, and other contractual terms with vendors
• Document the value (savings, avoidance, performance) negotiated with suppliers
• Develop preferred vendor sources for frequently used goods or services
• Place purchase orders for goods and services pursuant to established policies
• Maintain appropriate supporting documentation for all purchases
• Resolve issues with vendors – e.g., delivery delays, pricing differences, quantity discrepancies, product defects – in a timely manner
• Articulate purchasing policies and procedures to end users and continually reinforce compliance with purchasing practices
• Support the creation and operation of an enterprise wide / cross functional Sourcing Council to drive early engagement and best practices, and maximize enterprise leverage
• Collaborate with the Senior Manager of Procurement and Sourcing in identifying and implementing process improvements
• Assist with ad hoc projects and perform other duties as assigned
• Demonstrate a continuous improvement mindset; analyze process using data and propose improvements that will result in efficiency, customer satisfaction, and cost savings
  
  

What You’ll Need To Be Successful

• Deep understanding of Spend Analysis, Sourcing, and Source-to-Pay principles and processes
• Experience evaluating vendor bids, negotiating pricing and other contractual terms, and managing on-going relationships
• Hands-on experience with the Procure-to-Pay process using NetSuite, Jira, ServiceNow, Power BI, automation workflow tools for the Purchase Requisition intake process (Vendor Risk Management, Contracting, Other internal review processes)
• Experience differentiating cost savings and cost avoidance, and experience calculating both as applicable
• Experience Support senior level partners to build and run sourcing events, including managing internal expectations, setting and meeting timelines.
• Experience defining spend categories and subcategories
• Familiarity with the application of internal controls in a purchasing context
• 3 – 5 years of experience in a purchasing and sourcing related role, supporting global operations, for a company with annual revenues of at least ₹4 Billion INR–experience in a technology company desirable
• Report to the Senior Manager of Procurement (directly) and the Director of Finance (locally).
