We are looking for a Sr. Engineer – Process (New Projects / PED)

Place of Work : Chennai

Job Summary:

Job Role And Responsibilities

  • Improve and maintain the process capability of assembly lines and processes by a systematic approach.
  • Able to work as a team to maintain OEE of assembly lines as per target.
  • Analyze production feasibility - Manufacturability of the product (new technology/product on existing lines), prepares drafts of process line layout.
  • Create & lead the Process / Equipment FMEA & Process flow chart.
  • Creation of Equipment Spec sheet (List of Requirements) for new machine/finding & evaluating potential suppliers locally to compete with the mother plant machinery
  • Preparing techno commercial comparison sheet between various suppliers & recommending the most suitable one with justification
  • should be able to create the concept of Special Purpose Machine (SPM) & make it to realize & proven the same - (participates in preparing/buying analysis, defines the target cost in line with project targets);
  • Prepare the CAR (Capital Expenses Approval) with Justification for investment & get approval from management.
  • Responsible for follow-up & driving the supplier as per the project timeline
  • Buy off the lines from the mother plant / Local supplier & establishment the lines at India to ensure stable production
  • Responsible for New machine/lines buy off / installation at site & proving the same & handing over to Maintenance / Production
  • Validate the New Process / Machine/line through PpK Study, analyze and taking action to make the stable process
  • Preparation of New project documents with respect to APQP / PPAP(Production part approval process)
  • Ensure process readiness prior to the Full Production Day and Start of Production (SOP).
  • Coach and support other process engineers/line technician in the team, act as a backup of process leader
  • Support maintenance team for troubleshooting machine issues.
  • Ensure Zero LTA / First Aid in Line / Gemba Safety Condition
  • Responsible for SWS (Standard Work Chart) Study and make effective line balancing.
  • Coordinate with the mother plant team to ensure the trouble-free production

Required Skills / Abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS.

Education And Experience

  • Qualification: Graduate in Mechanical / Industrial Engineering / Mechatronics / Electrical and

Electronics with 06~07 years or Diploma in Mechanical / Industrial Engineering / Mechatronics / Electrical and Electronics with 07~10 years relevant experience in Assembly line with an automatic machine, preferred SPM Building knowledge.

  • Good Knowledge in New Project development, New Machine development, New Line Installation

& validation,

  • Knowledge in PPAP documents like PFD & PFMEA, Process Capability study.
  • Good command of CAD will be an advantage to prepare line layout;
  • Good working attitude and problem solving skills
