Position Description
The Payment Services Specialist will support payment-related initiatives, ensuring smooth integration, processing, and compliance of payment systems. This role will collaborate with engineering, product, customer service, and external partners to optimize payment operations while maintaining security and scalability.
This is a mid-level individual contributor role requiring hands-on expertise in payment systems, technical troubleshooting, and cross-functional coordination.

This role will collaborate with engineering, product, customer service, and external partners to optimize payment operations while maintaining security and scalability.

What We’re Looking For
Payment Operations Support:
- Assist in post-production processes for payment services, ensuring smooth transaction flows.
- Maintain relationships with payment providers and integrators to resolve technical and operational issues.
- Serve as a key point of contact for internal teams on payment-related inquiries.
- Work with Product and Technical Support teams to implement new or updated payment solutions.
- Provide feedback from clients and internal stakeholders to help shape product improvements.
- Support business development by offering insights into payment solutions for new or existing clients.
- Follow and refine standards for payment service implementations.
- Assist in monitoring risks and dependencies in payment-related projects.
- Help resolve payment escalations in coordination with customer service teams.
- Troubleshoot payment processing issues, including authorization, settlement, and reconciliation.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on API integrations, encryption, and tokenization.
- Analyze transaction data to identify trends, reduce fraud, and improve efficiency.
- 3–5 years of experience in payments, with knowledge of North American payment operations.
- Networking knowledge (TCP/IP, Wi-Fi) and packet analysis (Wireshark/tcpdump).
- Experience with observability platforms (New Relic, Datadog).
- Understanding of cryptographic processes and TLS/SSL management.
- Ability to analyze .NET/Java application dumps and system event logs.
- POS integration layers and middleware experience.
- Technical familiarity with payment gateways, transaction flows, and multi-currency processing.
- Basic understanding of secure network infrastructure and scripting (e.g., SQL).
- Awareness of PCI compliance and industry regulations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage technical tasks.
- Effective communication skills for cross-team collaboration.
- Ability to work with business, product, and engineering teams on payment projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (preferred but not required).
- Exposure to global payment platforms and integrations.
- Familiarity with tokenization, encryption, or fraud prevention tools.
- Experience with POS software (PAR POS, NCR Aloha, Micros, or similar).
- Background in hospitality/restaurant technology.
- Analytical mindset to improve payment efficiency and cost optimization.
