About this opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced Packet Core Engineer to join our managed services operations team. The role focuses on design, configuration, troubleshooting and optimization of packet core elements across 2G/3G/4G/VoLTE/IMS domains, working with multi-vendor environments (Huawei, Cisco, Ericsson). The ideal candidate acts as an SME, driving KPI improvements and ensuring best-first-time operational outcomes.

What you will do:

  • Act as SME for packet core design and operational activities in a managed services environment.
  • Configure, integrate and troubleshoot packet core nodes (MME, SGSN, GGSN/PGW/SGW, UGW/USN) across Huawei, Cisco and Ericsson platforms.
  • Perform end-to-end call flow and protocol trace analysis (GTPv1/v2, Diameter, SS7, SIP for IMS/VoLTE).
  • Implement and maintain routing and IP configurations (OSPF, IP pools), APN provisioning, TAI-DB, LAC barring, CSFB, SRVCC and BSC/RNC migrations.
  • Integrate and validate policy/charging elements (PCRF, OCS, DRA) and related interfaces (Gx, Gy, Gz, Gy, S6a, S11, S1, SGs, Gn/Gr/Gi).
  • Monitor, analyze and improve packet core KPIs (including PACO-related KPIs) and drive end-user perception improvements.
  • Configure and validate Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) and service-awareness / differentiated charging solutions.
  • Provide technical troubleshooting, RCA and corrective action plans; prepare design/configuration documentation and operational runbooks.
  • Work independently and mentor junior engineers; interface with vendor support for escalations and SW upgrades.

The skills you bring:

  • 6-12 years of relevant telecom experience with strong exposure to Packet Core (EPC/GPRS/IMS).
  • Hands-on experience with packet core nodes (SGSN, GGSN/PGW, SGW, MME, UGW/USN) on Huawei, Cisco and/or Ericsson platforms (minimum two vendors preferred).
  • Strong understanding of GSM/WCDMA/LTE/VoLTE and associated 3GPP standards.
  • Proven experience in packet core configuration, protocol trace analysis and KPI troubleshooting with measurable outcomes.
  • Familiarity with SS7, GTP, Diameter and SIP signaling.
  • Practical knowledge of OSPF, IP pool configuration, APN setup, PCRF/OCS/DRA integration, CSFB, SRVCC, TAI management.
  • Experience with DPI, service awareness and differentiated charging concepts.
  • Ability to work independently, adopt right-first-time approach, and act as SME.
