Description

Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), the Medical Director of Primary Care (MDPC) provides strategic and clinical leadership for the delivery of comprehensive, patient-centered primary care at Fenway Health. This includes the integration of pediatric, adult, family, geriatric, transgender, and substance use disorder care, along with oversight of medical education. The MDPC is responsible for aligning primary care programs with institutional goals related to equity, access, and innovation, leading initiatives to advance health equity and expand open-access and same-day care models.

The MDPC directly supervises clinical leaders in primary care, including the Director of Medical Education, Medical Director of Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), Medical Director of Trans Health, and the Borum Adolescent Health Program Lead. They also oversee the Medical Floor Leads and provide clinical supervision as needed. These program areas and reporting relationships may evolve over time in response to organizational needs and growth.

This role collaborates closely with the Director of Clinician Experience & Innovation (DCEI), as well as nursing, operations, and quality teams, to implement access-expanding initiatives and strengthen team-based care. The position blends administrative, clinical, supervisory, and strategic responsibilities.
