Job Summary

The ideal candidate should have a strong background in food technology or biotechnology, with extensive experience in developing and implementing quality systems from the ground up. This role requires exceptional leadership skills and the ability to ensure that all products meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Quality Assurance and Control:
    • Develop and implement comprehensive QA/QC protocols and procedures for the production process.
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant food safety standards and regulations (e.g., FSSAI, ISO, HACCP).
    • Conduct regular audits and inspections of the production process to identify and address potential quality issues.
    • Oversee the testing of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products to ensure they meet specified quality standards.
    • Maintain accurate records of all QA/QC activities and generate reports for senior management.
  • Leadership and Management:
    • Lead, train, and mentor the QA/QC team to ensure high performance and continuous improvement.
    • Foster a culture of quality and safety throughout the plant, promoting best practices and compliance.
    • Coordinate with other departments (e.g., Production, R&D, Procurement) to address and resolve quality-related issues.
    • Develop and manage the QA/QC budget, ensuring cost-effective operations.
  • Product Development and Improvement:
    • Work closely with the R&D team to develop new products and improve existing ones, ensuring they meet quality standards.
    • Participate in the development and implementation of product specifications and standards.
  • Customer and Supplier Relations:
    • Address customer complaints and issues related to product quality, working to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
    • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure the quality of incoming raw materials.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in biotechnology, Food Technology, or a related field (B.Sc. in relevant discipline).
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in quality assurance/quality control within the food industry, preferably in dairy manufacturing.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing QA/QC systems from scratch.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and standards (e.g., FSSAI, ISO, HACCP).
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
