Borders General Hospital in Melrose is a modern and well-equipped 284 bed DGH serving the rural Borders area in South East Scotland, approximately 36 miles from Edinburgh, well serviced by public transport links. The Role

Obstetrics and Gynaecology services in NHS Borders includes a labour suite with 5 labour rooms and just under 1000 deliveries per year. Gynaecology patients are admitted to two wards shared with the surgical team. Outpatient clinics take place in the Borders General Hospital but also at peripheral sites within Scottish Borders. Facilities at the BGH provide a high standard of both diagnostic and interventional radiology support including easy access to Nuclear Medicine, Spiral CT and MRI scanning.

Your role would involve labour ward, gynaecological and antenatal outpatient and theatre sessions in addition to participation in the middle grade/trainee resident out of hours rota (1:6). The post would ideally suit doctors working in obstetrics & gynaecology at intermediate level (ST3/+) who would like to further develop their clinical skills or another speciality area of their interest within the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Team.

You must be a fully registered medical practitioner with the GMC with a license to practice. MRCOG or equivalent is not essential but desirable.
