Job Title: Lead - Retail Mall Planning & Strategy Location: Ahmedabad, Gujarat Purpose

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead for Retail Mall Planning & Strategy to join our Central team in Ahmedabad, Gujarat for an Airport City Side Development (CSD) role that encompasses assets across Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Jaipur and Lucknow. The ideal candidate should have 8-10 years of experience in the retail or retail real estate industry, with a strong understanding of retail real estate development, brand concepts, zoning strategy and product mix, along with excellent presentation and negotiation skills.

Roles And Responsibilities

As the Lead - Retail Mall Planning & Strategy, your key responsibilities will include:

• Developing and implementing strategic plans for the retail mall, aligning with overall business objectives
• Conducting market research and analysis to identify consumer trends, competitor activities, and market opportunities to arrive at optimal zoning and product/category mix for retail malls
• Collaborating with internal teams to curate a diverse mix of retail brands that align with the mall's positioning and target audience
• Create category, tenant mixes and floor-wise zoning for retail malls.
• Overseeing the leasing process, negotiating agreements, and managing tenant relationships
• Driving initiatives to enhance the mall's trading density and footfall through innovative marketing and promotional activities
• Analyzing brand performance, P&Ls, and sales data to optimize the tenant mix and maximize revenue generation
• Coordinating with marketing team to plan retail events, activations, and seasonal campaigns
• Establishing strong partnerships with key stakeholders, including retailers, vendors, and industry associations
• Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of retail strategies, making data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement
• Reporting directly to senior management on the performance and strategic direction of the retail malls

• Conversant with MS Excel and MS Powerpoint, with advanced analysis and presentation skills; familiarity with any other retail-specific analysis tools is desirable
• Experience in lease negotiations and contract management
• Understanding of marketing and promotional strategies tailored to the retail sector
  
  

Non-Negotiable Skills

• Experience in Retail real estate, on the development side, retailer side or with IPCs
• Understanding of brands & brand P&Ls and concepts such as trading density
• Excellent presentation and communication skills
  
  

Qualifications

Education Qualification

• Master of Business Administration in Marketing or Strategy is desirable
  
  

Experience

• 8-10 years of experience in the retail (growth and expansion) or retail real estate space
• Proven track record in retail/commercial real estate industry with experience in new asset planning and development
• Demonstrated understanding of brands, brand P&Ls, and commercial concepts such as trading density, zoning strategy, product mix and revenue models.
• Experience in strategic planning and implementation within a retail/commercial real estate environment
  
  

Certification Required

No specific certification required, but relevant industry certifications are advantageous.
