About The Role

We are looking for Lead EHS to ensure everyone in the company complies with health and safety requirements. You will be responsible for establishing policies in all the GAVL and its associate companies in coordination with GILAC Corporate EHS team that will create and maintain a safe workplace.

As a Lead EHS you must have excellent attention to detail to identify hazards on operations and heath front. You will also be able to discover opportunities for improving conditions and execute various safety/health programs. You will require to have ability to work in different type of industries as role demands to work in Animal feed, Crop protection, Oil palm plantation, Chemical, chicken processing and dairy industry. The ability to communicate guidelines to a multidisciplinary workforce across the country is essential.

The goal is to ensure the workplace meets all the legal expectations and actively supports occupational health and safety

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing and executing health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines
  • Preparing and enforcing policies to establish a culture of health and safety
  • Evaluating practices, procedures and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law
  • Coordinate with GILAC corporate EHS team members to roll out across group policies and requirement

  • Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention
  • Monitor compliance to policies and laws by inspecting employees and operations
  • Inspect equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions
  • Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes and handle worker’s compensation claims
  • Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures
  • Report on health and safety awareness, issues and statistics

Who are we looking for?

Experience: 15 years plus, spectrum across mechanical/ food/chemical industries etc.

Skills

  • Ability to design and drive safety systems and standards across GAVL factories.
  • Drive environmental projects across the factories to achieve environmental goals.
  • Ability to driver Behavior based safety systems to improve safety culture of the company
  • Ability to develop reportees capability to drive systems at the factory and supporting the factory by addressing safety issues promptly.
  • Ability to bring new risk reduction technologies to reduce risks at the factories.
  • Focus on digitizing the safety systems to improve the effectiveness and efficiency in implementation. Example – LockOut Tag out (LOTO) system, permit to work (PTW) etc.
  • Auditing ability to monitor the systems performance periodically and timely intervention to improve the system
  • Setting the KPIs across GAVL to drive safely and environment.
  • Ability to understand the process and support the company for operational efficiency along with Safety.
  • Ability to identify cost reduction projects in safety as well as operations for reducing risks and improving operations efficiency.
  • Experience in process hazard analysis, Hazop, chemical safety etc.
