We are now looking for LAB Specialist - Metallurgy Lab

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure Safe Working practices as per Sandvik EHS Policies & guidelines.
  • Ensure metallurgical and physical testing conformance in all Raw Materials required/processes and parts produced in the foundry.
  • Testing and clearance for all incoming raw materials and bought outs.
  • Melt sample analysis on spectrometers, physical/mechanical testing, microstructure analysis, sand analysis and hardness testing as per quality plan.
  • Liaise with third party testing laboratories for material testing (as required) and the vendors for test sample machining.
  • Taking decision on HT Batch clearances.
  • Log the deviation / rework details associated with manufacturing order in deviation log as per quality plan.
  • Participate in quality review meetings, RCA & Corrective actions for all non-conformance observed during testing and Field failure analysis for Customer claim/actions.
  • On time Calibration of Metallography Equipment / Testing Equipment and HT Equipment
  • Maintain high level of housekeeping, maintenance and upgradation of Metallurgical Laboratory equipment
  • Review of WI & SOP related to ME Lab on time updating in AIMS System
  • Identification, Storage of the Metallurgy samples as per QMS standard.
  • To ensure QA, metallurgical and physical testing conformance in all Raw Materials required/processes and parts produced in the foundry
  • To ensure on-time completion of Quality check in Metallurgy and physical/mechanical testing as per specification

Qualification: BSC Chemistry / Diploma – Metallurgy or in relevant fields

Experience: Minimum hands-on experience of 3-5 years in Manufacturing Engineering Industry in Metallurgical analysis /Laboratory in Production environment for a candidate with BSc Chemistry / Diploma in Metallurgical Engineering.

Hands-on experience in basic metallurgical instrument handling.

Exposure to ERP systems is preferred
