The Instrumentation Engineer for Construction Works will be responsible for the planning, design, installation, and maintenance of instrumentation and control systems used in construction projects. This role involves working closely with other engineering disciplines, project management, and construction teams to ensure that instrumentation systems are effectively integrated and operational throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Design and Specification:
    • Develop and review instrumentation and control system designs for construction projects.
    • Create detailed engineering specifications, data sheets, and drawings for instruments and control systems.
    • Select appropriate instrumentation technology and equipment to meet project requirements.
  • Installation and Commissioning:
    • Oversee the installation of instrumentation and control systems, ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
    • Conduct on-site inspections and testing to verify the correct installation and functioning of instrumentation systems.
    • Coordinate with construction teams to integrate instrumentation systems with other project components.
  • Project Management and Coordination:
    • Collaborate with project managers and other engineering disciplines to ensure timely completion of project milestones related to instrumentation.
    • Provide technical support and guidance to construction teams and subcontractors on instrumentation-related issues.
    • Monitor project progress, prepare status reports, and address any issues that arise during the project lifecycle.
  • Quality Assurance and Compliance:
    • Ensure that all instrumentation and control systems comply with relevant safety standards, regulations, and quality control measures.
    • Implement and maintain documentation for all instrumentation systems, including calibration records, test results, and as-built drawings.
    • Participate in risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for instrumentation systems.
  • Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
    • Develop maintenance schedules and procedures for instrumentation systems to ensure their reliability and longevity.
    • Diagnose and troubleshoot instrumentation issues, providing technical solutions to minimize downtime and ensure project continuity.
    • Train construction and maintenance personnel on the operation and maintenance of instrumentation systems.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in instrumentation engineering.
    • Identify opportunities for improving instrumentation systems and processes to enhance project efficiency and performance.
