British Deputy High Commission in Mumbai is looking for a dynamic, high-calibre colleague to join an experienced team that leads on the India- UK inward investment relationship. The UK is a preferred inward investment destination for Indian companies- we need a colleague who will help us retain this position and also play a key role in the development of our future strategy.
Your role will be to coordinate DBT’s Inward Investment operations in Western India working closely with the Investment leadership team including:
• promoting the UK as the ideal destination for inward investment to Indian companies in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa and Madhya Pradesh
• coordinating key account management of important Indian businesses working closely with the Investment leadership team
• acting as a co-ordinator across Western India in driving high value investment projects towards achieving national inward investment targets
• working with colleagues to drive lead generation of investment projects with a specific focus on Tier 2 cities in Gujarat, wider Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Goa.
• coordinating with the Deputy High Commissioners in the region, the DBT Senior Management Team and HQ on important Ministerial Visits and strategic priorities.
You will be expected to develop and deliver a strong pipeline of current and future investment projects and contribute to the wider DBT / UK in India effort across a range of corporate objectives. You will be supported with opportunities to get the right learning and development, career development and opportunities to travel. Essential qualifications, skills and experience
Experience working in some aspect of trade and investment in an international context. Team leadership experience. Evidence of having managed senior relationships.
Qualifications: Graduate/post graduate.
Experience:
• A minimum of 8-10 years relevant commercial/business development experience.
• At least 3-5 years of direct line management experience.
• Relevant work experience that has led to an in-depth understanding of Foreign Direct Investment promotion/ attraction.
• Proven ability to manage a portfolio of projects with significant impact/complexity and/or track record of delivering results/success in a consultative sales environment.
• Experience of dealing with Indian businesses in Western India. You will need to show a solid track record of independently dealing with senior level decision makers.
