We are seeking an experienced Hardware Operations & Manufacturing Manager to join our Connected Health, a Division of Tata Industries. This role will focus on overseeing engineering design, manufacturing, and supply chain aspects of our medical devices.

Connected Health is developing clinically accurate, user-friendly point-of-care diagnostic devices for home use. Our mission is to bridge the gap between consumer-friendly wearables and clinical-grade medical devices, creating solutions that enable preventive, predictive, and personalized healthcare through accurate data collection and analysis.
Our current product pipeline includes devices focused on Non-Communicable Diseases such as hypertension, diabetes and aging related ailments.
Role Overview
As the Hardware Operations & Manufacturing Manager for Connected Health, you will oversee product development from electronics engineering design through Design for Manufacturing (DFM) to full-scale production. With your strong electronics background, you'll evaluate and guide hardware design decisions, component selection, and manufacturing processes to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and regulatory compliance across our hardware products.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and guide Electronics and Hardware Engineering Design processes, ensuring alignment with product requirements and manufacturability
- Lead Design for Manufacturing (DFM) efforts to optimize electronic products for production
- Evaluate and approve electronic component selection, PCB designs, and sensor implementations
- Drive BOM optimization to balance quality, cost, and supply chain resilience
- Oversee prototype development, testing, and validation of hardware components
- Manage vendor relationships for electronics and hardware manufacturing
- Develop and implement quality control systems for manufacturing processes
- Negotiate manufacturing agreements and manage production timelines
- Collaborate with regulatory teams to ensure compliance with medical device regulations
- Create and maintain documentation for manufacturing processes and quality control
- Identify and resolve manufacturing challenges and supply chain bottlenecks
- Work with the technical product team to ensure hardware-firmware integration
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in hardware operations, manufacturing, or supply chain management
- Strong background in electronics and hardware engineering with hands-on experience
- In-depth knowledge of electronic components, PCB design, and hardware assembly processes
- Experience with medical device development and manufacturing preferred
- Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles and practices for electronic devices
- Expertise in component selection, sourcing, and qualification
- Familiarity with BOM management and optimization techniques
- Understanding of quality control systems for electronics and hardware manufacturing
- Experience with vendor management and contract negotiations
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements for medical devices (CDSCO experience a plus)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
- Engineering degree in Electronics, Electrical, Biomedical or related field
