Divisional Overview
Global Investment Research division (GIR) delivers value-added research to clients in the equity, fixed income, currency and commodities markets and develops global client-focused research in economics, portfolio strategy, derivatives and equity and credit securities. Our clients use these insights and investment ideas to develop their strategies. GIR produces original, fundamental research and analysis of industries, companies and economies.
Our research teams continually identify and analyses financial information, strategic issues and trends that affect companies, industries and markets on a regional and global scale.
Global Investment Research: Quantum & Verification
Quantum & Verification (Q&V) analysts are responsible for verifying, monitoring, and analyzing company financial and operational data in GIR’s proprietary database, Quantum. Q&V analysts will also be involved in future enhancements to the Quantum database as well as other strategic initiatives of the GIR division. This role is essential to the division’s data quality effort and will serve in a global capacity working closely with analyst teams and global research management.

Job Responsibilities
- Work closely with Equity Research Analyst teams globally to ensure/quality control:
- Link standardized contribution sheets to analysts’ financials models and review the quality of data ahead of initiations.
- Perform regular quality reviews of published Quantum data.
- Handle accounting questions and database related queries.
- Coordinate with other teams within Research:
- Collaborate with regional cross divisional teams on data collection efforts.
- Work with teams such as Engineering and Data Management to drive enhancements to Quantum.
- Responding requests from clients, Global Banking & Markets division, and vendors:
- Handle requests for published analyst models from Sales and external clients.
- Manage and execute data feed requests from Sales/external clients while ensuring appropriate data quality controls are met.
- Expertise in Accounting and Financial Statement Analysis: In-depth understanding of accounting principles and the ability to analyze complex financial statements.
- Proficiency in Company Filings: Well-versed with various company filings such as 10-K, 10-Q, and annual reports, sourced from platforms like the SEC and company investor relations websites.
- Excel Skills: Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with other Office applications for data handling and analysis.
- Preferred Coding Knowledge: While not mandatory, knowledge of Python and VBA is an advantage.
- Excellent Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, crucial for effective collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and a high level of motivation to take responsibility and excel as a team player.
- Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
