The Senior Programmer will manage extensive healthcare databases, ensuring the quality and integrity of data, and transforming this data into a common model accessible to a broad range of professionals within the company. The role is critical in providing technical support, reports, and presentations to epidemiologists, analysts, and programmers.
Key Responsibility
- Manage the inflow of healthcare claims and electronic medical record (EMR) databases.
- Conduct quality checks, develop specifications, and transform data to facilitate accessibility and usability.
- Develop and provide reports and presentations for internal stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to enhance data utilization and impact.
- Engage with data vendors to ensure high standards of data quality and support.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Minimum of three years of SAS programming experience, including SAS Macros.
- At least one year of Python programming experience.
- Proficient in SQL for database querying, transformation, and quality control.
- Proven experience with real-world healthcare data sources such as Flatiron, Ontada, MarketScan, Optum, Medicare, and EMR databases.
- Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with data vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Masters degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Five years of SAS programming experience.
- Experience with Databricks programming environments, including Spark SQL and Python.
- Proficiency in Spotfire for reporting and visualization.
- Familiarity with software development and design life cycles, ideally in an Agile environment.
- Experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
