Freelance, 3D Designer

Overview

CACTUS is a remote-first organization and we embrace an accelerate from anywhere culture. You may be required to travel to our Mumbai office based on business requirements or for company/team events.

As a 3D Designer, you will be responsible for creating captivating and realistic 3D models, animations, and visualizations for various projects such as scientific/medical 3D video, 3D journal cover designs, marketing materials, etc.

Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality and visually appealing 3D models, textures, and animations using industry-standard software.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, and writers, to conceptualize and execute design projects.
• Interpret design briefs and translate them into engaging and interactive 3D assets.
• Ensure the timely delivery of projects and adhere to project deadlines.
• Revise and improve 3D designs based on feedback and creative direction.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute innovative ideas to enhance project outcomes.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance related to 3D design and rendering.
  
  

Qualifications And Prerequisites

• Proven experience as a 3D Designer with a strong portfolio of 3D projects.
• Proficiency in Blender (preferred) or other 3D modeling software like Cinema 4D or 3ds Max, with the ability to convert assets to Blender if needed.
• Expertise in character modeling, lighting, texturing, rigging, and animation, delivering high-quality outputs.
• Familiarity with rendering engines and post-production tools like Adobe After Effects (preferred).
• Knowledge of file optimization for efficient rendering and cross-platform compatibility.
• Strong artistic and creative skills, with a keen eye for detail and aesthetics.
• A degree in Animation, Multimedia, or Graphic Design is preferred but not mandatory.

Our selection process typically involves an initial screening by a recruiter, a technical assessment, and two to three interview rounds. For this role, the process begins with an assessment which will be shared to evaluate technical skills. Next, candidates will proceed to an interview lasting 30 minutes. All interviews will be conducted virtually via MS Teams
