As the Finance Manager for India, you will be responsible for aligning the finance department's activities with the strategic objectives of the organization. Reporting to the Finance Director of APAC, you will ensure financial planning, compliance, analysis, and team leadership meet the highest standards. Your role will be pivotal in driving financial excellence within India while supporting the broader APAC region.
Key Responsibilities
Plans and Aligns:
Develop strategic plans and initiatives for the finance department, ensuring alignment with organizational, regional and strategic requirements
Oversee financial planning and analysis activities, providing insights and actionable recommendations to enhance performance.
Accounting And Compliance
Ensure adherence to local and international accounting standards, regulations, and internal policies.
Manage compliance related to Indian company law as per Companies Act 2013
Financial Management & Analysis
Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support strategic decision-making.
Monitor financial performance, identify key drivers, and provide insights for improvement.
Monthly Reporting
Ensure timely and accurate monthly financial reporting in compliance with the Group reporting timetable
Ensure all costs from the Global Capability Center are properly accounted for and recharged to the correct departments
Ensure all financial information and additional data critical for the Group consolidation process is accurately reported.
Communication And Collaboration
Communicate financial analysis, insights, and recommendations effectively to senior management and stakeholders.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align financial activities with overall business objectives.
Collaborate with subject matter experts (agencies) to adhere to tax regulations and Indian company law (as per Companies act 2013)
Systems And Processes
Develop and implement strategies for financial systems and tools to support organizational goals.
Drive process optimization and innovation to improve efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness.
Problem Solving
Address strategic financial issues or challenges to support organizational objectives.
Analyze budget variances and financial performance gaps, providing solutions to drive improvement.
Strategic Mindset
Develop long-term financial plans and strategies to support organizational goals.
Identify opportunities for improvement and efficiency gains in financial processes and procedures.
People And Change Management
Team Leadership: Lead and inspire finance and administration team members, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
Talent Management: Attract, develop, and retain top talent, building a high-performing team capable of delivering financial excellence.
Team Development: Invest in the development of team members, providing learning opportunities and fostering continuous improvement.
Empowerment: Empower team members to take ownership of their work and make decisions, providing guidance and support as needed.
Change Leadership: Lead the finance team through periods of change or transformation, effectively managing resistance and ensuring successful implementation.
Performance Management: Set high standards for performance and accountability, regularly reviewing team performance and providing feedback and coaching.
Performance Oversight: Oversee the finance team’s performance, setting goals, monitoring progress, providing feedback, and recognizing achievements.
Knowledge, Experience And Skills
Fluent in English, with comprehensive skills in business communication, leadership, presentations, financial reporting and analysis, and collaboration.
7+ years of finance leadership experience, ideally in a Global Capability Center environment
Strong knowledge and experience in accountancy and understanding of ERP logic is essential
Deliver strong financial controls and record financial results in-line with Group accounting policies and IFRS
Multi-site/ business unit experience.
