Fashion Designer

Saheli Women is looking for a fashion designer to come and experience our dynamic studio life in Jodhpur and support us with the creation of our next collection.

We are looking for someone whose ethical values align with ours and who supports our mission of creating a fashion value chain that centres on female empowerment at every stage. This is a wonderful opportunity to work with our experienced team of artisans and to contribute to the next stages of the Saheli Women brand.

Duties include:

• Getting to know the women in the centre, and championing their voices and skills.
• Client communication, such as sharing colour and fabric samples, and discussing client budgets and ideas
• Overseeing production processes and quality.
• Creating mood boards showcasing new trends, inspirations, materials and silhouettes.
• Research and development of designs, from sketch to final design details and specifications.
• Testing and assisting with decisions on fabrics, colours, patterns and textures for each design
• Creating tech packs with detailed specifications
• Developing CAD sketches
• Overseeing the sample process
• Assisting our Master Ji in pattern-making

This position is on a volunteer basis at the moment and we are looking for someone to come for a minimum of 4 months.
