FACTS Engineering

Job Objective:

AESL is looking for a passionate technically ambitious and skilled FACTS engineer for our Ahmedabad location. The candidate will be part of the existing HVDC Centre of Excellence team and will be responsible for FACTS projects engineering related activities.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Strategic Roles & Responsibilities

•Review of the detailed STATCOM design and engineering documents submitted by OEMs.

•Responsible for reviewing the FACTS technical bids submitted by the bidders, discussions with the bidders regarding their noncompliance of the tender specification / their proposed changes.

•Giving inputs with regards to the technical part to the techno-commercial team in contract finalization.

•Witnessing performance tests, type tests and routine tests / factory acceptance tests of the manufactured HVDC/FACTS equipment including C&P of HVDC/FACTS system.

•Prepare analysis and provide recommendation on project engineering related issues.

•Provide support to the site team in topics related to engineering aspects such as design changes, resolution of design implementation issues, etc.

Operational Responsibilities

•Manage & track documents received from Contractor/OEM for review & approval.

•Visit site for assessment during tender process to identify site conditions/ bottlenecks.

•Monitoring the progress of review of engineering documents submitted by the various contractors.

•Participate in various technical meetings with the internal as well as stakeholders.

People Management

This role is predominantly individual contribution but needs to have good interpersonal skills to coordinate with cross functional team members.

Educational Qualification: BE / B. Tech/ – Electrical or ME/M.Tech-Electrical

Experiences: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in HVDC/FACTS Project Engineering covering (E.g., HVDC/STATCOM Valves, converter transformers/Coupling transformers, filters, HVAC Equipment and HVDC/HVAC switchgear etc.)
