DGM - Structural Design Lead - Real Estate

Responsibilities

Purpose / Objective:

As a talented Lead Structure at City Side Development, you will play a pivotal role in the design and development of iconic landmark projects. As a Lead structure, specialize in Design Review and Coordination, you will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity, safety, and compliance of structural designs within construction projects. Collaborate closely with project teams, architects, and other engineering disciplines to review and coordinate structural designs, providing expertise to enhance project outcomes. This role requires a deep understanding of structural engineering principles, a keen eye for detail, and effective communication skills. Your expertise in design, design management, and stakeholder management will be essential to our success. This work will cover a variety of sectors, including commercial mixed-use projects with Hospitality, retail, entertainment, banquet halls, offices etc.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Leadership: Lead and manage structure design of complex mixed use design projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to design standards, budgets, and timelines.
• Design Management: Evaluate and review structural designs, drawings, and specifications for compliance with building codes, standards, and project requirements. Identify potential design issues and propose innovative solutions to optimize structural performance and efficiency. Conduct thorough structural analyses to ensure designs meet safety and performance criteria.
• Coordination: Collaborate with external consultant and Internal project teams to ensure seamless integration of structural designs into overall project plans. Participate in interdisciplinary meetings to coordinate design changes and resolve any conflicts that may arise during the construction process. Provide support in the development of interdisciplinary coordination drawings.
• Value engineering: Undertake value engineering for all projects to optimize the design proposed by consultants.
• Communication: Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, conveying complex technical information in a clear and concise manner. Prepare comprehensive design review reports, highlighting key findings, recommendations, and potential areas of improvement. Foster open communication channels to facilitate collaboration among project team members.
• Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of relevant building codes, industry standards, and regulatory requirements affecting structural design. Ensure that structural designs adhere to all applicable codes and standards.

• Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain quality assurance processes to guarantee the accuracy and reliability of structural designs. Perform periodic site visits to assess the implementation of structural designs and address any on-site challenges.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with community members, government agencies, and stakeholders to gather input, build consensus, and address concerns.
• Design Excellence: Good sense of structure design and ability to coordinate with local and international consultants.
• Team Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior designers, fostering their professional growth and development.
• Research and Analysis: Conduct design research and analysis to inform design decisions, incorporating best practices, emerging trends, and sustainable design principles.
• Sustainability: Incorporate sustainable design principles and environmental considerations into master plans.
  
  

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

• Academic Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in civil or Structural Engineering AND Master's degree in Structural Engineering.
• Total 15- 18 years of experience out of which minimum 4 years of in design management with reputed developers. Experience in metro design will be added advantage.
