Deputy Manager - PHP Developer

Roles & Responsibilities

We are looking out for a passionate and enthusiastic PHP Drupal developers who can help us in creating technical solutions for multiple & concurrent client projects. This role collaborates extensively with HGS’s team of consultants in creating cutting-edge solutions. In addition to superior technical skills, the developer should be able to translate conceptual ideas into concrete tasks as well as translate business needs into technical requirements. Responsible for designing and implementing new features and functionality, establishing, and guiding the website’s architecture, ensuring high-performance and availability, and managing all technical aspects of the CMS. Work closely with other developers and customers to ensure an effective, visually appealing and intuitive implementation.

Primary Responsibilities

• Experience building user interfaces for websites and / or web applications
• Experience working with WordPress, Drupal 10 & above, HTML5, CSS3, PHP, JavaScript, and jQuery
• Ability to write JavaScript with and without the use of frameworks such as jQuery
• Experience developing web solutions in WordPress, Drupal and PHP implementations in a LAMP environment
• Ability to architect enterprise Drupal solutions including data, display, and information architecture
• Advanced site-building experience including deep familiarity with WordPress and Drupal modules such as CTools, views and panels
• Experience working with Drupal multisite framework and commerce modules will be a big advantage
• Experience in creating custom Drupal modules and WordPress Plugins
• Knowledge of PHP, PHP files and theme functions, and knowledge of Drupal theme layer and WordPress themes
• Work with the rest of the development team, helping where appropriate
• Must be service oriented and help our internal customer needs.
• Must be proactive and reach out to team members and other employees regularly
• Must be able to work in a very fast-paced global environment.
• Designs and implement user-driven templates, databases and interfaces for ease of use.
• Ensures applications meet requirements and desired quality and signs off on all technical aspects of work.
• Performs complete testing of Web applications–unit and system, engaging users as necessary.
  
  

Technical Skills

• Must have over 7-8 years of experience working with WordPress and Drupal 9 & 10 CMS. Should have experience working on projects from requirement gathering phase to complete delivery.
• Must have experience with Headless Drupal and ability to create REST APIs.
• Strong experience in PHP based development
• Must be experienced in working with Headless Drupal.
• Must have strong experience working with WordPress, Drupal 9/10, HTML5, CSS3, PHP, JavaScript, and jQuery
• Experience with personalization features
• Familiar with secure coding practices - how to prevent SQL injections, Encrypted traffic, etc
• Experience in migrating portals from other CMS to Drupal or WordPress
• Experience using continuous integration and automated deployment tools

• Must have strong communications skills in English - significant exposure directly to customer (written and spoken)
• Process Analysis skills to understand the requirements end-to-end and be able to determine customer needs vs. wants.
• Negotiation skills to be able to present technology limitations and agree with customer on workarounds.

• Experience with agile methodologies (must have)
• Must be willing to work on US/UK shifts
