Purpose of the role
We are seeking a customer-facing Data Engineer to join our Professional Services team. This role involves working closely with customers to understand their data, transforming it for integration into our AI-powered inventory and pricing applications, and building integrations back into customer systems. You will be instrumental in creating seamless data flows that enhance operational efficiency for both our organisation and our customers. You will also work closely with our Data Scientists to make sure that the applications we deploy generate a tangible impact for our customers.

Purpose of the role
We are seeking a customer-facing Data Engineer to join our Professional Services team. This role involves working closely with customers to understand their data, transforming it for integration into our AI-powered inventory and pricing applications, and building integrations back into customer systems. You will also work closely with our Data Scientists to make sure that the applications we deploy generate a tangible impact for our customers.
The Role
- Collaborate with customer stakeholders to understand their data structures and
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable and secure data pipelines.
- Transform and prepare client data for ingestion into inventory and pricing applications,
integration with our applications.
- Ensure data quality and compliance with regulatory and business requirements.
- Build and manage outbound data integrations to customer systems, ensuring accuracy
- Document data workflows and provide clear communication to stakeholders.
- Implement monitoring for data ingestion jobs and take corrective action should they fail.
- Providing constructive feedback to the Product & Engineering teams on data ingestion and integration.
- Contribute to data ingestion best practices & generalised tools to maximise the efficiency
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Python and DBT for data transformation and automation.
- Expertise in SQL and snowflake.
- Familiarity with ETL processes, data integration tools, and API-based integrations.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP). Our platform is built on AWS, so a good understanding of that would be beneficial.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with customer stakeholders.
- Ability to translate technical solutions into business-friendly language.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with compliance and security protocols for handling sensitive data.
- Experience with inventory and pricing systems or similar applications is a plus.
