Your Mission

As the Writer at Pocket Toons, you will be responsible for creation of compelling narratives. You’ll work closely with editors, artists, and production teams to ensure our webtoons don’t just exist—but captivate, inspire, and leave audiences craving the next episode. You will be the architect of how words meet visuals, shaping our platform’s voice and setting new standards for digital comics.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Adapt fantasy stories into webtoons - Break down existing fantasy narratives into episodic comic scripts with strong pacing, immersive worldbuilding, and impactful cliffhangers.
• Write panel-by-panel scripts - Include key details such as character pose/expression, shot type/angle, environment setting, action flow, fantasy elements (magic, powers, artifacts), and placement of dialogue/SFX.
• Collaborate with artists - Provide clear scripts that are easy for artists to visualize, ensuring characters, environments, and fantasy elements are visually accurate and impactful.
• Maintain episodic rhythm - Balance action, lore, and character development while ending episodes on compelling hooks.

Who You Are:

• A writer with a strong grasp of fantasy storytelling, worldbuilding, and characters that keep readers invested.
• Someone who can visualize action and fantasy elements clearly for artists to translate into dynamic panels.
• A passionate webtoon/comic reader who understands what makes fantasy stories engaging and binge-worthy.

What You Bring:

• 2+ years of experience writing comics, webtoons, or related visual storytelling formats (fantasy or action preferred).
• Experience collaborating with artists to deliver clear, visually adaptable scripts.
• Strong ability to script dynamic action, emotional intensity, and impactful effects.
• A pulse on global trends in webtoons, pop culture, and digital entertainment.
