Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to support the Global Sales organization and customers during the proposal process. Create competitive integrated systems bids, taking into account best available product mix and appropriate technical and commercial considerations for each opportunity. Ensure tenders are well documented in a timely manner with appropriate level of details, including full and accurate costs.

The work model for the role is: – Onsite

This role is contributing to the Process Automation – Marine & Ports in India

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Deliver consistent, high quality, accurate and timely bids.
  • Identify potential risks in the bids, providing information and/or participates in the Risk Review process in accordance with ABB policy.
  • Engage in bid preparation of proposals for standard solutions through internal and external resources.
  • Ensures all proposals follow relevant ABB procedures and guidelines as well as legal requirements
  • Collaborate in sales prospects with relevant stakeholders (i.e., Segment Manager, Vessel Type Manager, Solution Manager, Shipyard Responsible, Sales Manager and Service).
  • Coordinating the flow of information for sales activities and transactions, including leads, billings, orders, contracts, etc. and evaluates data to ensure achievement of goals.
  • Ensuring achievement of sales volume and product mix targets by setting appropriate price and margin for sales. Participates on negotiations of key contracts. Manages ongoing costs.
  • Support the Global Marine Sales organization/customers in determining the most technically appropriate and cost-effective solutions and prepare technical descriptions of the applied products and technology to support the proposal process.
  • Prepares and delivers technical presentations and demonstration for both internal and customers on complex solutions
  • Offering technical advice and solutions on inquiries from customers/ Sales Specialists about ABB products/systems/applications.
  • Performing analytic and diagnostic studies to determine the optimal technical solution to meet customer needs and address complex inquiries.
  • Developing and maintaining new sales opportunities and resolving specific customer problems/needs.
  • Ensuring the achievement of budget goals, including volume targets and profitable growth, across all assigned product groups and in the respective countries.
  • Identifies potential vendors for equipment and materials required in the project and technically evaluates supplier offers to check match with specifications. Collaborates with Supply Chain Management to coordinate requests to subcontractors.


Qualifications For The Role

  • You have extensive experience in Sales and Tendering within the Maritime, Marine, offshore, and shipbuilding markets.
  • Experience with integrated electrical and automation systems is considered a differential.
  • You can demonstrate 8 to 12 years of experience in Sales and Tendering.
  • Experience with Salesforce.com is considered a differential.
  • You have a sales-oriented personality with a strong customer-centric focus.
  • You hold an Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • You are comfortable communicating in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Experience in working within global sales organization environment is considered a differential.
