What You'll Do

The Global Accounting team at Avalara is seeking an Accountant. Reporting to the Global Accounting Senior Manager, this individual will be responsible for participating in the month-end close for global operations and will be part of the Global Accounting team based in India that will support accounting functions across Avalara’s global operations. They will be responsible for tasks such as reconciling accounts, preparing journal entries and reports, researching variances, performing account analysis, maintaining accounting system data, and communicating with other teams. This individual is expected to work during EMEA hours i.e. 2 pm to 11 pm IST and beyond that on need basis

Job Location : Pune

Please note: It is not a remote job. Also, US GAAP experience is Must.

• Contribute to the month-end close process to prepare timely, accurate financial data that is in compliance with US GAAP and Avalara accounting policies.
• Accurately reconcile accounts, summarize activity, and resolve reconciling differences appropriately.
• Perform accounting and control procedures related to a variety of areas, such as fixed assets, intangible assets, prepaid assets, and other areas, as necessary.
• Preparation of requested audit documentation and analyses
• Assist in fielding inquiries by researching and interpreting data.
• Partner with the business to record monthly accrual entries.
• Perform ad-hoc accounting projects as directed.
  
  

What You’ll Need To Be Successful

• Chartered Accountant or MBA
• Ideal background from SaaS industry or software industry
• Minimum 0-3 years of intermediate accounting experience
• Experience with NetSuite (preferred) or other large ERP systems such as Oracle or SAP.
• Highly proficient analyzing data in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong verbal and written communications in English.
• Demonstrates excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to work under time bound processes.
