Western Vocal Music Teacher

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Western Vocal Music Teacher to inspire students through engaging vocal instruction and performance opportunities. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching junior and middle school students within an inquiry-based learning environment, preferably the IB PYP framework.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging, inquiry-based Western vocal music lessons aligned with the IB PYP framework for Junior School students.
Teach Western vocal techniques, including pitch, rhythm, breathing, diction, and performance skills to students across different age groups.
Develop and lead school choirs, vocal ensembles, and performance groups.
Integrate music into transdisciplinary learning experiences within the PYP.
Encourage creativity, self-expression, and appreciation of music through singing and performance.
Prepare students for concerts, assemblies, showcases, competitions, and school events.
Foster a positive, inclusive, and student-centred learning environment.
Requirements:
Formal qualification or certification in Western Vocal Music (e.g., ABRSM, Trinity College London, Music Degree, or equivalent).
IB PYP Certification or relevant training preferred.
Experience teaching Western vocal music to primary and middle school students.
Ability to train choirs and vocal ensembles.
Strong understanding of inquiry-based learning and child-centered pedagogy.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills.
Passion for nurturing confidence, creativity, and musical excellence in young learners.
