About The Role

This role forms a core part of Tradeweb’s global Surveillance function, with primary responsibility for daily alert disposition and case management, while contributing to the enhancement of the Surveillance framework through work on alert design, calibration and dashboard development. The successful candidate will help strengthen monitoring coverage, improve the efficiency of alert handling, and support the development of data-driven methodologies that underpin a scalable surveillance environment.

Working closely with the Global Head of Surveillance and senior members of the team, the role provides a mix of operational and developmental responsibilities across Fixed Income surveillance. The individual will support improvements to monitoring coverage, contribute to tuning and optimization of alert scenarios, and assist in strengthening data quality and automation initiatives. Although not expected to independently drive all development streams, the ability to contribute meaningfully to them is important.

This position offers an excellent opportunity for a surveillance professional with strong Fixed Income knowledge and alert disposition experience, and a keen interest in developing new skills, including AI and digital asset expertise. The role involves collaboration across Compliance, Technology, Risk, and the business, offering broad exposure and the opportunity to shape the future evolution of Tradeweb’s surveillance processes and tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct the daily review and analysis of surveillance alerts to ensure timely escalation and effective case management.
  • Perform quality assurance reviews of closed alerts handled by other Surveillance Officers to maintain accuracy and consistency.
  • Prepare and submit market abuse notifications to relevant regulatory authorities.
  • Produce management information (MI) to support recurring reports, board-level presentations, and regulatory submissions.
  • Support the integration of new business initiatives into the surveillance framework, ensuring monitoring coverage and alignment with control requirements.
  • Support the design and optimization of alert scenarios, including parameter setting, tuning, and back‑testing to ensure effective surveillance coverage.
  • Contribute to the refinement and enhancement of alert logic to reduce false positives while maintaining strong detection sensitivity.
  • Support design and build of Tableau visualizations and interactive dashboards to monitor alert activity, calibration outcomes, control performance, and provide real‑time MI and board reporting.

Required skills:

Product and Market Knowledge

  • Strong knowledge of Fixed Income markets and products, including bonds, repos, credit derivatives, interest rate swaps, and related products.
  • Strong understanding of Fixed Income pricing, market structure, liquidity dynamics, and trade execution workflows.
  • Strong interest in developing digital assets and blockchain knowledge.

Trade Surveillance and Market Abuse Expertise

  • Hands-on experience in Fixed Income trade surveillance, including alert disposition and case management, acquired at a trading venue operator, sell-side or buy-side firm, financial regulator, or other financial institution.
  • Strong understanding of market abuse typologies, including insider dealing, unlawful disclosure and market manipulation.
  • Good knowledge of UK and EU Market Abuse Regulation (MAR), including legal frameworks and regulatory expectations.

Alert Design And Calibration Skills

  • Experience in refining alert logic to reduce false positives while maintaining high detection sensitivity.
  • Experience in supporting the design and optimization of alert scenarios, including setting, tuning, and back-testing alert thresholds for effectiveness and efficiency, would be an advantage.

Data and Dashboard Analysis

  • Experience using Tableau dashboards for data analysis, regulatory reporting and management information.
  • Strong interest in developing Tableau Creator skills, with the ability to design dashboards and support effective data exploration and presentation.
  • Strong Excel proficiency, including advanced formulas and pivoting.

AI & Digital Assets Skills

  • Strong motivation to develop AI and digital asset knowledge to support emerging Surveillance initiatives.

Personal Skills

  • Strong team ethic with the ability to work collaboratively and productively across departments.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to convey technical concepts clearly and succinctly, both verbally and in writing, to diverse audiences.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills, with the ability to make evidence-based recommendations and adapt to evolving priorities.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with a strong commitment to continuous learning and effective workload management.
  • Ability to prioritize competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
