Responsibilities

Capital Projects & Facilities Civil/Structural Engineering

  • Provide civil and structural engineering support to DM&C - (DOWNSTREAM, MIDSTREAM & CHEMICALS) capital projects and operating facilities across all project phases, including opportunity development, design, execution, and close-out.
  • Support brownfield projects and turnarounds, including development and review of civil and structural engineering work packages.
  • Provide field engineering support, including constructability reviews, site queries, and coordination with construction teams.
  • Support optimization of facilities to deliver safe, reliable, and value-focused outcomes.

Civil Design, Analysis & Technical Support

  • Perform and review civil engineering designs and analyses Foundations (shallow and deep), Concrete and steel structures, Buildings, pipe racks, and equipment supports, Roads, drainage, and site development.
  • Review and improve designs to ensure operability, constructability, maintainability, and safety.
  • Support development and checking of calculations, drawings, and discipline deliverables.
  • Support technical review of contractor designs and engineering packages.

    

Project Execution, Risk & Change Management

  • Participate in design reviews, multidisciplinary coordination, and constructability assessments.
  • Support Management of Change (MOC) reviews related to civil scope modifications.
  • Participate in other project risk reviews as required.
  • Identify civil and structural risks and support development of mitigation strategies to enable safe facility operation.
  • Provide civil engineering input to turnaround planning and execution, including temporary works and site access considerations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil/structural engineering from a recognized (AICTE or similar accreditation body) university.
  • Min. 10 years of experience supporting facilities, brownfield projects, or operating assets.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of civil engineering principles, problem solving, and engineering judgment.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and collaboration skills.
  • Legal authorization to work in India without the need for visa sponsorship.
  • Experience supporting capital projects, turnarounds, or operating facilities in refining, LNG, or complex industrial environments.
  • Experience with civil design codes and standards, site development, and structural systems.
  • Field experience supporting construction, maintenance, or facility modifications.
  • Familiarity with digital engineering tools, data analytics, or model-based design.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in civil/structural engineering.
  • 10-15 years of experience in civil/structural engineering for brownfield projects in an industrial/refining environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of PIP, ASCE, and IBC standards.

Chevron ENGINE supports global operations, supporting business requirements across the world. Accordingly, the work hours for employees will be aligned to support business requirements. The standard work week will be Monday to Friday. Working hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm or 1.30pm to 10.30pm
