Job Title: Team lead – Strategic Sourcing
Job Mission
The Team lead strategic Sourcing– Machining, casting & forging Category will be responsible for managing the sourcing strategy and supplier relationships, ensuring cost reduction, quality improvement, and supply chain optimization. The position requires a strong technical understanding of processes as well as excellent negotiation and project management skills. The team lead strategic Sourcing will work closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D, production, quality, and coordination to drive cost savings, ensure supplier performance, and support new product development (NPD) initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Category Strategy
- Develop and execute category strategies based on spend analysis, supply market intelligence, and risk assessment.
- Identify sourcing opportunities related to cost, innovation, localization, and supply chain resilience.
Strategic Sourcing Execution
- Lead RFI/RFQ processes, supplier selection & evaluations and sourcing decisions independently.
- Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, and long‑term contracts with suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with sourcing policies, ethical standards, and sustainability requirements.
Supplier Relationship Management
- Build and manage strong relationships with strategic and critical suppliers.
- Monitor and improve supplier performance using structured KPIs.
- Proactively manage supplier risk, capacity, and delivery reliability.
Cost Optimization & Value Creation
- Deliver annual cost‑reduction and value‑creation targets.
- Apply value engineering, benchmarking, and TCO methodologies beyond price negotiations.
- Own savings pipelines and reporting.
New Part Development
- Lead new part development activity focusing on total cost of ownership.
- Ensure timely part development in alignment to organisational needs.
Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or production engineering.
- 5–10 years of experience in strategic sourcing, category management, or procurement.
- Knowledge of Machining, casting, forging & heat treatment processes.
- Demonstrated success in supplier negotiations, cost reduction, and category strategy.
- Experience of working with local and global supplier base.
