About CynLr

Just like a baby’s brain, CynLr Visual Intelligence stack makes Robots to instinctively see & pick any object under any ambience, without any training. (a demo video link).

Today, a robot that can fit a screw into a nut without slipping a thread, doesn’t exist. Imagine what it would take for a robot to assemble a Smartphone or a car by putting together 1000s of parts with varied shapes and weights, all in random orientations. Thus, factories become complex, needing heavy customization of their environment.

CynLr-enabled visual robots intuitively learn to handle even unknown objects, on-the-fly, eliminating the need for rigid fixtures, pre-training, or environment customization. This enables an universal alternative to custom automation thus simplifying factory lines into modular LEGO-like micro-factories that can be rapidly reconfigured as products change.

At the core of CynLr lies a fundamentally new approach to machine vision. Unlike conventional vision systems that rely on image recognition and heuristics, CynLr’ s Vision and ML stacks are deeply inspired by neuroscience, modelling how biological vision understands shape, geometry, and interaction rather than appearance alone. To support this, CynLr builds its hardware, sensors, compute pipelines, and learning stacks from scratch, tightly coupling perception, decision-making, and action.

This integration allows CynLr to operate in conditions that defeat traditional automation: variable lighting, cluttered environments, unknown objects, and high precision manipulation, unlocking automation use cases that have remained unsolved for decades. By rethinking vision as an intelligent, adaptive sense rather than a static tool, CynLr is redefining how robots perceive, reason, and interact with the physical world.

About the Role

Product Design begins as a hypothetical concept. Transforming that concept into a functional Product is a highly creative and iterative process that requires a strong understanding of electrical fundamentals, physical constraints, and manufacturing realities.

For any hardware product, the PCB is the physical backbone that defines electrical performance, reliability, thermal behaviour, manufacturability, and ultimately the product’s form factor and cost. Component selection, placement, stack-up, routing strategy, and manufacturability constraints together determine whether a design remains a prototype or becomes a scalable product.

Engineering high-quality PCBs often requires going beyond standard reference designs and “thumb rules” — balancing signal integrity, power integrity, EMI/EMC, thermal constraints, mechanical packaging, and manufacturing limitations.

Geographically, we operate in an ecosystem where component availability, fabrication capabilities, and assembly quality vary significantly. This requires continuous engagement with PCB manufacturers, assembly houses, component vendors, and test partners to ensure designs are robust, manufacturable, and repeatable.

You will be responsible for the design, validation, and manufacturing readiness of PCBs used across our products. The Product Design team will be your internal customer.

Your primary contribution will be toward

  • Supporting CynLr’s Product Design team with all Schematic, Layout, Library management and hardware development
  • Translating system-level and schematic designs into production-ready PCB layouts.
  • Defining board stack-ups, layer counts, and material selections based on electrical and mechanical requirements.
  • Performing component placement and routing with focus on SI, PI, EMI/EMC, thermal, and mechanical constraints.
  • Preparing and releasing manufacturing and assembly documentation for prototype and production builds.
  • Verification & Validation (V&V)
  • Supporting electrical bring-up and validation of manufactured PCBs.
  • Debugging board-level issues in collaboration with system and firmware teams.
  • Interfacing with PCB manufacturers, assembly vendors, and component suppliers to ensure successful execution and timely delivery
  • Acting as the PCB design knowledge base for design engineers and freshers joining the organization.

Job Requirements

Electronics Fundamentals:

  • Strong understanding of digital and analog electronics.
  • Solid understanding of schematic design practices and electrical constraints.
  • Good understanding of signal integrity and power integrity fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with high-speed digital interfaces and their PCB-level requirements.
  • Understanding of EMI/EMC principles and mitigation techniques.
  • Basic understanding of thermal management at the PCB level.

PCB Design & Layout:

  • Strong hands-on experience with PCB CAD tools (Altium, OrCAD, KiCad, or equivalent)
  • Experience designing: Multilayer PCBs (Rigid, Flex and Rigid-Flex), High-density and fine-pitch component boards, Mixed-signal designs
  • Experience with: Component placement optimization, Controlled impedance/ differential pair routing, Power plane and ground plane design
  • Experience routing: High-speed interfaces (USB, Ethernet, PCIe, DDR, etc.), Power circuits and regulators
  • Ability to handle complex, densely populated boards.

Verification and Validation:

  • Experience supporting PCB bring-up and debugging.
  • Ability to work with: Oscilloscopes, Logic analyzers, Multimeters.
  • Experience reviewing and responding to SI/PI, EMI/EMC, and thermal analysis feedback.
  • Ability to identify and correct layout-related issues during validation.

Manufacturability & Documentation:

  • Strong understanding of DFM, DFA, and DFT principles.
  • Experience creating: Fabrication drawings, Assembly drawings, Gerbers /ODB++Pick-and-place files
  • Experience working with PCB manufacturers and assembly houses for: Prototype builds, Production builds, Yield improvement and issue resolution.

Vendor and Supply Chain:

  • Exposure to PCB fabrication and assembly ecosystems (local and global).
  • Experience reviewing BOMs for: Component availability, Alternate part selection, Lifecycle and obsolescence risks.
  • Ability to interact with vendors during quoting, review, and build stages.

What will you do?

CynLr’ s vision system is central in the control loop of the vision guided manipulation platform. The stereo vision system is acquiring at 75 FPS and this means processing must also happen at this speed or higher and the processing method based on neural network is computationally intensive as it involves a high level of successive matrix multiplication.

You will contribute in the system hardware design with PCB involving high speed interfaces like USB, EtherCAT, PCIE, etc. Your focus will be majorly on the PCB and Hardware design, working closely with Product Design team to build and deploy PCB's for embedded system, design evaluation boards for motor, encoder, camera and similar peripherals. You will also be contributing to product assembly and board bring up and validation along with mechanical CAD design to ensure proper packaging of PCB for IP related activities.

It will be your responsibility to interact with vendors for PCB manufacturing, SI/PI, Assembly. You will define and execute verification and validation procedures, support prototypes and manufacturing builds, and ensure reliable system behaviour in real-world use. This role focuses on design, integration, evaluation and system validation.

How will you do it?

Though confined to a focused area, the work is pretty much expected to be entrepreneurial with the exact advantages and difficulties of a startup. Since this is a startup and the product will evolve at a rapid pace, the contours of the technology, toolchain & Process will have to constantly adapt to the changes. You will participate in actively contributing to building the process & tool chain too. You will have complete freedom here, but you will be subjected to reviews.
