Logistics Specialist (Thane)

Summary

Join us as a Logistics Specialist, where you’ll coordinate global freight movements, manage shipping documentation and quotations, and ensure smooth, on-time delivery. You will serve as a key point of contact, resolving transportation issues and delivering excellent service to both internal teams and external Customers worldwide.

What You Will Do

• Providing transportation quotations (domestic and international). This includes air, ocean and truck, regardless of urgency (e.g. expedites) and size and weight of shipment(s).
• Obtain carrier Proof of Delivery documentation for quarter end activity and as requested daily.
• Obtain Customer consolidation and/or delivery requirements to ensure they are properly set up
• and communicated to the Transportation Analyst (s) and/or carriers assigned to orders.
• Monitor shipping performance of warehouses and carriers
• Obtain quotations from Freight Carriers when required
• Write new and update current SOP’s and standard work within the department for all standard
• processes.
• Prepare and administer quarterly carrier reviews to maintain carrier performance, Identify and implement opportunities for improvement.
• Maintain the end-of-quarter delivery report and manage revenue recognition
• Book shipments with the appropriate carrier and prepare necessary paperwork as it relates to returns (including trade in’s, shipments to charitable organizations and call tag) and vendor drop shipments and update Oracle with the correct shipment information.
• Troubleshooting related to transportation and delivery of goods to or from STERIS or STERIS supplier/vendor facility
• Recordkeeping where required
• Assist the Logistics Management in the evaluation of STERIS Domestic & International Transportation suppliers.
• Work at the direction of the Logistics Supervisor in the coordination of shipments to Customers
  
  

The Experience, Skills And Abilities Needed

• Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline
• Proficient in Incoterms, logistics operations and key industry challenges.
• Experience in warehouse operations and 3PL maangement, including coordination, performance monitoring, and process optimization.
• Skilled in implementing cost-effective logtistices strategies, including identifying and managing efficient, cost-saving freight forwarders.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve operational and supply chain issues in a timely and effective manner.
