Job Description

We are looking for an experienced FHIR Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our US Healthcare program. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in HL7 FHIR R4, US Core Implementation Guides, CMS interoperability mandates, and healthcare API integrations. The candidate will play a key role in designing, validating, and implementing FHIR-based interoperability solutions while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and guide the implementation of HL7 FHIR R4 standards across healthcare interoperability projects.
• Design and validate FHIR resource mappings, profiles, extensions, and implementation guides.
• Review and validate FHIR APIs to ensure compliance with US Healthcare interoperability standards.
• Support Inferno testing and other FHIR compliance testing frameworks.
• Ensure solutions comply with US Core, Da Vinci Implementation Guides, and CMS Interoperability Mandates.
• Collaborate with architects, developers, business analysts, and QA teams to deliver scalable interoperability solutions.
• Provide technical guidance and best practices for FHIR implementation and healthcare data exchange.
• Troubleshoot interoperability issues and recommend optimal solutions.
• Stay updated with evolving FHIR standards, CMS regulations, and healthcare interoperability trends.
• Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical design sessions.
  
  

Required Skills

• 10+ years of IT experience with significant experience in US Healthcare.
• Strong hands-on expertise in HL7 FHIR R4.
• In-depth knowledge of US Core Implementation Guides.
• Experience with Da Vinci Implementation Guides.
• Strong understanding of CMS Interoperability Mandates.
• Experience in designing and validating FHIR APIs.
• Hands-on experience with Inferno Testing and FHIR validation tools.
• Strong knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, XML, OAuth 2.0, and SMART on FHIR.
• Experience with healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7 v2, CDA, or C-CDA is an added advantage.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
  
  

Preferred Skills

• Experience working with Payer Interoperability projects.
• Experience with Azure cloud services and API Management.
• Knowledge of EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner.
• Experience with healthcare integration platforms.
• Exposure to Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
  
  

Mandatory Requirements

• US Healthcare domain experience is mandatory.
• Strong expertise in FHIR R4, US Core, Da Vinci, and CMS mandates.
• Experience in Payer Interoperability is mandatory.
