In this role, the candidate will support detailed electrical design, contribute to tender proposals, ensure compliance with international standards, and assist in design optimization using modern engineering tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deatail design electrical process for power transformers and shunt reactors, focusing on internal connections, performance optimization, overall system functionality .
- Drawing of insulation structure, prepare bill of material, ordering specification, DIL & clearance chart, review with cross function
- Contribute to tender proposals, understanding customer requirement and summarisation, Optimisation of electrical design of transformers and reactors.
- Ensure that designs adhere to verious standards and regulations such as IS, ISO, IEC, IEEE, and other industry-specific guidelines.
- Contribute to Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (DFMEA) to assess potential risks and design weaknesses, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
- Apply FEA tools (experience with tools like ANSYS is a plus) to simulate and evaluate key parameters like electromagnetic fields, thermal performance, and mechanical stress within transformer and reactor designs.
- Work closely with internal engineering teams, external suppliers, and clients to ensure the integration of electrical designs with other systems and provide technical support as needed.
- Maintain detailed records of design specifications, reports, and compliance with industry standards. Document any changes to designs, materials, and processes.

oFamiliarity with National or international standards such as IS, ISO, IEC, IEEE, and others.
oFamiliar with DFMEA and failure analysis (RCA) to improve design quality and prevent issues.
oKnowledge of FEA tools is an advantage (e.g., ANSYS, COMSOL).
oFamiliarity with international & national EHS norms.
oFamiliarity with Lean concept i.e. Kaizans, 5S, problem solving tools etc.

Job Description
We are looking for a talented Power Transformer Electrical Designer to join our team at GE Vernoa Vadodara (Large Transformer India). This role requires a skilled designer with a solid foundation in power transformer and shunt reactor electrical design, including internal connections with a strong background in transformer test requirements including DIL (Design Insulation level) chart Preparation and basic knowladge in design tools like DFMEA. An understanding of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools would be an advantage. The position may require occasional travel for project-related activities.

- Educational Requirements:
Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field. - Professional Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in electrical design, specifically with power transformers and shunt reactors.
- Technical Expertise:
- Strong understanding of power transformer and shunt reactor electrical design principles.
- Familiarity with National or international standards such as IS, ISO, IEC, IEEE, and others.
- Familiar with DFMEA and failure analysis (RCA) to improve design quality and prevent issues.
- Knowledge of FEA tools is an advantage (e.g., ANSYS, COMSOL).
- Familiarity with international & national EHS norms.
- Familiarity with Lean concept i.e. Kaizans, 5S, problem solving tools etc.
- Language Skills:
- Fluency in English is required.
