Job Summary

Supervision Received:

• Reports to and receives operational direction from the project Expediting Supervisor.
• Receives functional guidance from the Expediting Manager.
  
  

Contacts

• Responsible for coordination with project and project procurement management, engineering, construction, startup, planning and scheduling, area expediting, and other procurement personnel assigned to the project team.
• Maintains contact with suppliers to monitor the progress of material and equipment orders.
• Coordinates with area expediting personnel assigned to perform project visits.
  
  

Major Responsibilities

• Coordinates with suppliers to ensure timely engineering data, production, and shipments.
• Tracks schedules and progress to meet jobsite needs.
• Prepares and issues critical reports.
• Aligns priorities with planning, construction, and logistics.
• Expedites engineering reviews and approvals.
• Attends project meetings and maintains documentation.
• Oversees area expediting and supplier quality coordination.
• Supports customs clearance and material tracking at jobsite.
  
  

Education And Experience Requirements

• Requires bachelor’s degree in engineering from a reputed University. 5+ years of industry experience including minimum 3 years in expediting functions.
  
  

Required Knowledge And Skills

• Working familiarity with engineering and procurement practices, and general understanding of production methods.
• Experience in expediting visits to supplier shops, monitoring supplier performance.
• Capable of providing early warning to the Project Management of supplier deficiencies or schedule slippage.
• Knows how to deal professionally with suppliers and project personnel.
• Interprets schedules to ensure they are realistic, that required activities occur on time, and that interface between activities is maintained.
• Knows the supplier warning and advisory process.
• Skilled in preparing clear and comprehensive correspondence and reports.
• Understands budget development and management.
• Understands the Logistics and Supplier Quality process functions.
• Good oral and written communication skills regarding technical and production matters with both project and supplier personnel
