About the role:

We are looking for a highly skilled DevOps Engineer with a strong DevSecOps mindset to design, automate, and scale the infrastructure that powers Helfie.ai, an AI-driven preventive healthcare platform.

You will play a key ownership role in building secure, reliable, and high-performance cloud environments on Azure, managing AKS-based deployments, and ensuring seamless CI/CD pipelines across all environments.

This role involves driving infrastructure automation using Terraform, optimizing system performance, and enabling engineering teams to deliver with speed, stability, and confidence as we scale globally.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, provision, and maintain scalable, secure, and cost-efficient infrastructure on Microsoft Azure using Infrastructure as Code.
• Build, deploy, and manage production-grade Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) clusters — including cluster creation, scaling, upgrades, monitoring, and workload orchestration.
• Develop and maintain Terraform modules and pipelines to ensure consistent, version-controlled infrastructure deployments.
• Implement and manage continuous integration and delivery pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar tools to enable seamless deployments.
• Own DevSecOps implementation end‑to‑end by integrating security into CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure provisioning, and runtime environments.
• Implement automated security scanning across the delivery lifecycle:o Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), Containers and images, Application dependencies, CI/CD pipelines
• Enforce security and compliance policies as code using Azure Policy or equivalent mechanisms.
• Set up comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting using Azure Monitor, Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK to ensure uptime, performance, and fault tolerance.
• Apply security best practices in infrastructure provisioning — implement identity management (Azure AD), secrets management, network policies, and role-based access control.
• Automate provisioning, scaling, and configuration management using Python, Bash, or PowerShell scripts. Continuously tune system performance, monitor resource utilization, and implement cost optimization strategies across environments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure or deployment issues, perform root-cause analysis, and ensure system resilience through proactive improvements.
• Partner with backend, AI/ML, and product teams to integrate and deploy applications in a consistent, reliable manner across environments.
• Contribute to internal DevOps standards, perform code and configuration reviews, and uphold engineering best practices.
• Perform vulnerability remediation, root‑cause analysis, and security incident support for infrastructure and platform components.

Skills & Experience:

This role requires someone who has:

• Minimum 4+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps or cloud infrastructure engineering with DevSecOps as a primary responsibility.
• Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure, including compute, networking, storage, and identity services.
• Proven ability to build and manage AKS clusters from scratch, including deployment strategies, Helm chart management, and production-grade scaling.
• Advanced proficiency in Terraform (mandatory) for Infrastructure as Code, with strong working knowledge of Bicep and ARM templates.
• Demonstrated experience implementing DevSecOps practices, including:
• CI/CD security integration (SAST, DAST, image scanning, IaC scanning)
• Secrets management and secure configurations
• RBAC, network policies, and zero‑trust principles
• Solid experience with CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
• Strong scripting and automation skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Experience with monitoring and observability stacks such as Prometheus, Grafana, and Azure Monitor.
• Deep understanding of container orchestration, load balancing, and networking within Kubernetes environments.
• Strong troubleshooting, performance tuning, and problem-solving skills in distributed systems.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across engineering teams.

Office Hours and Work Location

• This role is a remote position based in Hyderabad, India.
• The role’s minimum availability times is 9am to 5pm.
• The role is a full-time role and is required to work the hours necessary to achieve its purpose in collaboration with a broad, geographically and time availability complex team. It should be expected to require at times varied work hours to collaborate with international groups, organisations, and colleagues at times suitable for them.
• This will include weekend work, as well as early and late hours.
• Work outside of normal office hours can be taken in lieu.
