The Role
An externally facing role in the Marketing Function. You will own the operational backbone of Elevation's community and events work: the logistics, systems, and follow through that make programmes run well and keep people coming back. This is not a strategy role. You are expected to get things done, notice what is broken, and fix it. We do not want someone who only executes a list. You should be seeing gaps and saying what to do about them. You should be seeing opportunities to elevate rooms and conversations and just do it.
What You Will Do
Event Operations
This is the core of the job. You will own end-to-end logistics for all Elevation events, from 20-person dinners to gatherings of 200 or more.
- Build event timelines, checklists and run-of-show documents. Coordinate venues, catering, AV, vendors, seating and materials.
- Manage invitations, RSVPs, waitlists, reminders, attendee tracking and all event communications.
- Prepare speaker, moderator and guest briefing notes before each event.
- Be on-site for every event, including weekends: setup, check-in, the room experience, and troubleshooting on the day.
- Manage guest lists carefully. For curated events, who is in the room matters.
- Build relationships with reliable venues, caterers and AV suppliers. Negotiate rates and know who to call when something goes wrong.
- Write a short debrief after every event and document repeatable playbooks so things get easier to run over time.
Community Operations
- Maintain clean, updated lists of portfolio operators and external community members, segmented by function and seniority, so the right people can be pulled into the right rooms quickly.
- Track participation and engagement across programmes. If the same ten people keep showing up and no one else does, that is a signal. Use the data to improve or cut.
- Support small-format programmes: roundtables, dinners, office hours and peer-learning groups. Keep CRM and internal tracking tools up to date.
- Design initiatives for specific audience segments. A roundtable for Series B growth leads needs a different format and guest list than a session for early-stage technical founders.
University Programme
Elevation runs a programme to build relationships with builders at IITs and IIMs, creating a long-term pipeline of talented people who know Elevation before they go on to build or join companies. You will plan and run on-campus and off-campus initiatives for student cohorts, build relationships with student clubs and entrepreneurship cells at target institutions, and track who comes through the programme over time. The value compounds over years, not months.
Partnerships
This is not about vendor discounts. Partnerships are with organisations that add intellectual and network value: AI labs, developer communities, university groups and accelerators. You will identify organisations worth building relationships with, reach out before there is a specific ask, and work with partners to design joint initiatives that founders find genuinely useful. Track what is delivering value and drop anything that has become a name without a relationship.
Requirements
What We Are Looking For
- 3-4 years in events, community, operations or an externally facing role. Experience in venture capital or at a startup is a plus.
- Proven track record running events end to end, including on-the-day logistics for larger gatherings.
- Highly organised and detail-oriented. You get things done without being chased, manage multiple workstreams without dropping balls, and close every loop.
- Clear written communication: crisp invites, short briefs, follow-ups that get responses.
- Warm, easy to build trust with, and calm under pressure. People should enjoy working with you.
- You notice what is not working and say something. Genuine familiarity with the Indian startup ecosystem.
