QA Automation Engineer

This role focuses on protecting product quality by making sure applications are stable, reliable, and ready for customers. You will work with developers, product teams, and engineers to validate features, report issues, and strengthen quality across web apps, APIs, and microservices.

The role includes designing test plans, executing manual and automated tests, building automation frameworks, and supporting release validation activities. You will help enhance test coverage, improve QA processes, and embed automation into scalable CI/CD pipelines.

This role requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a continuous improvement mindset. The ideal candidate will be comfortable addressing complex quality issues, improving automation workflows, and encouraging better quality engineering practices across teams.

Job Responsibilities:

• Own test strategy, planning, and automation coverage for SaaS modules and microservices.
• Perform manual testing for new features and bug fixes across web and API layers.
• Log detailed defects in JIRA (or similar tools) with appropriate replication steps and data.
• Support UAT and release readiness by ensuring coverage, traceability, and timely execution of test cycles.
• Lead end-to-end validation of releases, ensuring functional, regression, integration, and API layers are covered.
• Architect and maintain automation frameworks (Playwright, Selenium, or Cypress) integrated into CI/CD pipelines.
• Design test data management and ensure test environments align with production-like setups.
• Conduct API and contract testing (Postman, RestAssured, or Pact).
• Establish and track quality metrics (defect leakage, automation rate, release readiness).
• Mentor junior contractors on testing best practices and automation.

Skills required:

• Graduates with bachelor's degree in computer science IT or related streams
• 2-4 years of QA experience, with strong exposure to SaaS, multi-tenant systems, and cloud environments.
• Solid understanding of SDLC, STLC, and Agile methodologies.
• Experience with SaaS platforms, REST APIs, and microservice-based architectures.
• Hands-on with NoSQL and basic data validation.
• Proficiency in test automation (Java, JS/TS, or Python) and frameworks like Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress.
• Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, OAuth, and JSON/XML validation.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Docker/Kubernetes, and test execution in cloud infra.
• Proven ability to analyze logs, APIs, and observability dashboards for root cause validation.
