Brief Description

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Algo Head to lead the algorithmic trading division at Arihant Capital Markets Limited. The role involves building and managing automated trading strategies, overseeing quantitative research and trading technology infrastructure, and driving innovation in algorithmic execution systems. The ideal candidate will combine strong capital markets expertise with advanced quantitative, technological, and leadership capabilities to enhance trading performance and scalability.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end algorithmic trading function across equities, derivatives, and other asset classes

• Design, develop, test, and optimize algorithmic trading strategies to improve execution efficiency and profitability

• Oversee quantitative research, model development, back-testing, and performance evaluation of trading strategies

• Work closely with technology teams to build and maintain trading systems, APIs, and low-latency execution platforms

• Monitor strategy performance, execution quality, risk exposure, and market behavior in real time

• Implement robust risk management frameworks, controls, and surveillance systems for algorithmic trading activities

• Ensure compliance with SEBI regulations, exchange guidelines, and internal risk policies related to algorithmic trading

• Lead and mentor a team of quantitative analysts, developers, and trading professionals

• Collaborate with Risk, Compliance, IT, Operations, and Business teams for smooth trading operations

• Continuously evaluate emerging technologies, including AI/ML applications, for enhancement of trading strategies

• Drive innovation in trading models, infrastructure, and analytics to maintain competitive advantage

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or related field

• 8–15 years of experience in algorithmic trading, quantitative trading, or financial technology roles

• Strong understanding of capital markets, market microstructure, derivatives, and trading systems

• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, Java, R, or equivalent

• Hands-on experience with strategy development, back-testing frameworks, and data analytics

• Knowledge of low-latency trading systems, APIs, and market data infrastructure

• Familiarity with AI/ML techniques applied to trading strategies is a strong advantage

• Strong leadership experience with ability to manage cross-functional teams

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

• Prior experience in brokerage firms, hedge funds, trading firms, or financial institutions preferred

• Understanding of SEBI regulatory framework for algorithmic trading is desirable
