DBM Vircon is looking to expand our Engineering and Design footprint in Chennai, India, we are seeking highly motivated, energetic, and proactive individuals who are looking to take on a larger role in their careers. In our Chennai office, we are hiring a Junior BIM Coordinator.

The Junior BIM Coordinator will be involved with various BIM delivery tasks and the improvement of the DBM Vircon digital engineering processes under the guidance of an assigned mentor. The Junior BIM Coordinator will need to focus on learning new skills and processes while improving their current skill set and increasing their understanding of multiple software packages. They will be working collaboratively within a team environment.

Core Responsibilities:

Responsible for developing personal capabilities through training. Will work on small to medium projects under the guidance and supervision of senior staff. Responsible for executing assigned project tasks and maintaining quality delivery by following industry and DBM Vircon standards.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

General:

• Increasing comprehension of project types, digital workflows, processes, applications and software through training and mentoring.
• Day-to-day execution of specific tasks assigned by mentor within a project;
• Identifying innovation opportunities where the company would benefit from better processes or potential platform technologies;
• Taking part in R&D working groups.

Technical:

• Exposure to troubleshooting digital systems and refining best practices;
• Exposure to auditing of models and other digital content for compliance to project requirements, including maintenance of model audit schedules and hosting of coordination meetings.

Experience Required:

• Solid base understanding of digital engineering / BIM processes.
• A good understanding and awareness of modelling and drafting.
• An understanding of the design and construction processes used across all stages of the project lifecycle.
• A base understanding of relational databases and data requirements throughout the lifecycle of the project.
• Ability to work efficiently in small to large multi-disciplinary teams and share and transfer knowledge within teams.
• Initiative and a willingness to learn and continuously improve on performance.
• Minimum of 1-3 years of professional experience in the AEC industry, BIM background.

Software and Technology Knowledge Required:

• Revit Modelling - LOD 300 to LOD 500
• Revit Family Creation - Parametric and non-parametric family
• Navis Works - Clash detection, Set and viewpoints, and 4D and 5D Simulation
• Auto Cad - Creation of Blocks and Layers
• MS Word - Document creation, Layout and Statistics
• MS Excel - Document creation, Graph chart and report generation
