Job Title: Network Architect

Job Summary:
The Network Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable and secure network infrastructure to support the organization's operations. This role involves assessing current network systems, developing improvement strategies, and implementing solutions to optimize network performance, reliability, and security.

Responsibilities:

1. Network Design and Architecture:
- Design, plan, and implement scalable, high-performance network architecture to meet current and future business needs.
- Develop network topology and infrastructure design based on organizational requirements and industry best practices.
- Evaluate new technologies and recommend network enhancements or upgrades to improve efficiency and reliability.

2. Network Security:
- Implement and maintain robust security measures to protect the organization's network infrastructure against security threats, breaches, and unauthorized access.
- Design and implement firewall configurations, intrusion detection systems, VPNs, and other security mechanisms.
- Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with security policies and regulations.

3. Network Performance Optimization:
- Monitor network performance and proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, latency issues, and other network-related problems.
- Implement quality of service (QoS) policies and traffic shaping mechanisms to optimize network performance and bandwidth utilization.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues in a timely manner.

4. Network Infrastructure Management:
- Manage and maintain network infrastructure components, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless access points.
- Configure and optimize network devices for maximum efficiency and reliability.
- Implement network automation tools and scripts to streamline network management tasks and improve operational efficiency.

5. Capacity Planning and Scalability:
- Conduct capacity planning assessments to determine future network requirements and scalability needs.
- Plan and implement network expansion projects to accommodate growth and new business initiatives.
- Evaluate and recommend network technologies and solutions to support business growth and emerging trends.

6. Documentation and Training:
- Create and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including network diagrams, configuration files, and operational procedures.
- Provide training and technical guidance to IT staff and end-users on network technologies, best practices, and security protocols.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Professional certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP), or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in network architecture, design, and implementation.
- In-depth knowledge of networking protocols, including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, and MPLS.
- Strong understanding of network security principles, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and encryption protocols.
- Experience with network monitoring and management tools such as SolarWinds, Nagios, or PRTG.
- Proficiency in network hardware and software configuration and troubleshooting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills:

- Experience with cloud networking technologies and services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
