Hybrid Working

At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home. We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, anchor, days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). Introduction:

Looking for an experienced dynamic python, AWS and Big data Developer having experience in delivering innovative solutions in close collaboration with the Business. The candidate will have strong technical skills and be able to work in a fast paced agile environment.

Resource should have strong development and analytical skills. Resource will need to build knowledge around Hermes system and Datalake concepts in initial few weeks. He/She needs to have strong python knowledge along with expertise of using pyspark and Big Data technologies like HIVE/IMPALA. A strong knowledge on Cloud technologies like AWS is required with good understanding of component like AWS GLUE, lambda functions, Redshift and orchestration using step functions. Using APIs for data distribution and integration and deployments using CI/CD pipelines. Later he/she will be involved in all stage on development cycle from requirement, analysis, design, development, testing with timely delivery for various regulatory as well as strategic projects

What will you be doing

. Delivery of the Projects as per the agreed timelines.
. Coding and development in python language using pyspark, Spark SQL or Dataframes, HIVE/Impala.
. Building components for data integration and distribution using AWS services.
. Building CI/CD pipelines for deployments on Big data platform and Cloud.
. Design and develop APIs for data integration and distribution to different downstream applications.
. Performing the Optimizations and performance enhancements in case of any Production performance degradation experienced.
. Manage and mentor the juniors in the team at different locations and work in an inclusive diverse environment.
. Represent the Build-the-Bank team in different forums like CTO discussions, RTB discussions and Business escalations.

. Good level of education - ideally to degree level would be an advantage

. Ability to identify feasible options, problem solve and collaborate to get agreement or make necessary decisions
. Ability to work with minimal supervision

. Minimum 5+ overall years experience using and supporting big data platform.
. Strong understanding of underlying Hadoop Architectural concepts and distributed computing paradigms
. Experience in Development of Big data solutions with proven track record in driving business success
. Experience in the development of Hadoop APIs and Map Reduce jobs for large scale data processing.
. Hands-on programming experience in Apache Spark using SparkSQL and Spark Streaming Hands on experience with major components like Hive, PIG, Spark, MapReduce
. Hand-on knowledge of python and Py-spark
. Design and develop data ingestion programs to process large data sets in Batch mode using HIVE, Pig and Sqoop technologies
. Develop data ingestion programs to ingest real-time data from LIVE sources using Apache Kafka, Spark Streaming and related technologies
. Having hands on knowledge of using AWS services like GLUE, Lambda functions, Redshift and other services.

Skills that will help you in the role:

. Hands-on expertise in cloud services like AWS, or Microsoft Azure
. Creating ML model using python, Spark & Java
. Experience working in various Settlements and Sub ledger functions like PNS, Stock Record and Settlements, PnL
. Knowledge in BPS, IMPACT & Gloss products from Broadridge
. Experience working in ETL based projects involving Ab Initio
