QA Analyst II

SUMMARY
The Quality Assurance Analyst's role is to develop and establish quality assurance standards and measures for specific teams within the organization. This individual will also gather and analyze data in support of business cases, proposed projects, and systems requirements. This will include writing and executing test plans and tracking defects as they arise. The QA Analyst will apply proven analytical and problem- solving skills to help validate processes through careful testing to maximize the benefit of business investments.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities may vary over time and include, but are not limited to
- Work with counterparts on established quality assurance measures and testing standards for new applications, products, and/or enhancements to existing applications throughout their development/product lifecycles.
- Analyze documentation and technical specifications of any new application under deployment to determine its intended functionality.
- Work with Developers at all stages to promote quality code.
- Work closely with the Testing team, Developers and Product for requirements, Testing and deployment activities.
- Track and report upon testing activities, including testing results, test case coverage, required resources, defects discovered and their status, performance baselines, etc.
- Assist in performing any applicable maintenance to tools used in Testing and resolve issues if any.
- Ensure content and structure of all Testing documents / artifacts is documented and maintained.
- Collaborate with software/systems personnel in application testing, such as system, unit, regression, load, and acceptance testing methods.
- Operate under minimal supervision.
- Anticipate, identify, log and track issues as they arise and communicate test progress, test results, and other relevant information to QA and Project management.
- Cultivate and disseminate knowledge of quality assurance best practice
- Assist in the development of change control processes, practices, and guidelines for new and existing technologies.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
- A College degree in Computer Science or an Engineering discipline preferred. Equivalent experience may be acceptable.
- 4+ years direct experience as a QA Analyst for major application integration and/or major application product release.
- Good knowledge on SDLC and STLC.
- 3+ years- Experience in writing SQL queries and good experience in database structures. Able to interpret and write complex SQL queries to test backend services as application is data centric
- 1+ year - experience in testing API driven systems using tools like Swagger or Postman.
- Proven data analysis, data verification, and problem-solving abilities and be able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge on Agile Methodologies.
- Must exhibit a highly organized approach to work.
- Must have knowledge in all QA methodologies and lifecycles.
- Must be confident with high energy and a great passion for QA.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent listening, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Exposure towards Unix systems and testing process on Unix using putty tool
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
- 1+ years of test automation using (Selenium Webdriver, Java)
- Basic knowledge on any programming language (C#, Java).
- Experience with core software applications, including web and client/server applications.
- Experience in Data validation
- Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment.
- Working on front-end and back-end applications/QA environment.
